I would love to get the Mobafire Community opinion on this one if I may

Which would you say is the better choice - Either Sticking to the champions you are most comfortable on or Trying to constantly keep up with the Meta picks no matter how many times they change over the season?

Comfort. I climbed up to Gold as a One Trick Pony (182 games with Shyvana Jungle) and when I get back to the grind I expect I'll climb a fair bit before hitting another block because I know it so well and most other players don't.

Shifting to "Meta" picks only really applies to the super serious High Daimond/Masters/Challenger scene where if you really want to win and climb you will have to learn the Meta champs and excel at them.

I'm pretty inclined to gravitate towards comfort picks, myself. I do usually try to learn meta picks, but if I don't feel comfortable on a meta pick I won't actually play it very often.

Isn't he cute? I call him ‘Bill’.

Anyways, I find this question to be of the equivalence of comparing apples and oranges. Sure, you should stick to what you're comfortable with and what you enjoy playing, but if you refuse to evolve and keep up with the meta game then you'll never get anywhere—unless you're Vapora Dork, in which case you would've been anally fisted by Jesus himself at around the age of 7 to get some of his messiah powers.

Also, by playing the meta you will learn how to play against it, and figure out when it is the right time to try that old champion—you once loved but fell out of favour—once again.

Both are important; stick to comfort picks if the meta allows them, but also play the meta so you will at the very least learn its weaknesses and strengths.

depends on what your goal is in league and what you enjoy doing

if you want to get better at the game than learning the meta champs is probably a better idea though it would be wise to stick to one or two to improve at the game before branching out.

if you want to just relax and have fun then it also depends on what ur definition of fun is. some people enjoy playing whats currently good while others enjoy sticking to a select few champions.

Always helps to learn a few meta champs and if you happen to enjoy them (aka comfort), the better. For instance my one and only comfort pick for ADC is Ezreal, and he comes and goes in the meta. I can see a serious difference in performance between patches when he's considered amazing and when he's considered "meh". Same with my other comfort picks like Thresh.
