Tanky build in current patch: Frozen Mallet, runaan's hurricane, statik shiv, guinsoo's/Wit's End/Botrk/Armor pen item depending on enemy team. Keystone fervor, ad pen from masteries.

AP build: Keystone deathfire touch, magic pen from masteries. Hextech Gunblade -> liandry's torment, nashor's tooth, void staff, last item depending on enemy team, maybe banshee's veil.

same runes for ap build?

last question: do you think the tanky build or ap build is better?

I think it comes down to your playstyle. I had success with both but liked tanky build more.

Tanky AD build is better vs melee champions and burst. Playstyle requires you to auto attack enemy laner whenever he goes for last hits. Basically you slowly get a gold lead because you have more minions or you slowly burn the enemy down, forcing recalls/lost tower/enemy top dying for greeding minions.

AP build is better in a ranged matchup where you don't get free auto attacks so your Q/E/R do more single hit damage. This style requires you to have proper shrooms. Usually I would have a mushroom in these spots

and I would play close to the mushrooms so the enemy would need to get hit by at least one and I would turn the fight. AP build is more vulnerable to ganks though.

That's a relly nice guide, I use just the same build on top very often, but I'm not sure if gunblade is a core item. Don't you think that some attack speed from Nashor or Stinger at least would be better at the start, right after the Mask. I just myself saw that when I have no problems with slaying enemies with this build at the start, I just cant kill all the cs on lane and my enemy respawns and come to get all the creeps and xp just because I'm too slow.

Nashor's tooth doesn't help with early trades but hextech gunblade does and it gives sustain on top of that. That's the reasoning of delaying Nashor's to later. You can take 3x attack speed quints if you want attack speed to cs.

Good guide! This was actually the guide that got me into Teemo at the start of S5. Although I disagree with the general build and think many things are outdated, you shouldn't find any trouble with this build, though I'd recommend it to beginners, there are many more effective options that require a higher skill cap that I just don't seem to find in this guide.

Hello, nice guide ! I'm a main teemo and i've to said that i disagree with your idea of "what counter TAMO".
At mid or top, you'll easily destroy ZED. And probably take 1 or 2 one v one against this champ. If you build something smart (yeah, yeah, qss against ZED is smart.), you'll litteraly DESTROY him.
Rumble wont do any **** against a good teemo, cause he'll never touch any spear, and will get bursted down if he is full ap, and he will not be a prob if he is tanky due to hextech.
Kayle and panth, it's more like 50/50 on toplane. If you take a kill, you'll destroy them, if they take a kill, you are out.
Ryze... Well, this guy counter everything, so you can go tank teemo at champ select, that's your best chance. ( Grasp of the undying, frozen mallet, warmog, and other hp items.)

Your build can also be switch to a Fervor of battle masterie (who gave you 112 ad damage on hit in late game, what is strong i think.) and don't make a liandry. I think rylai is more efficient in lot of case, give more hp, and well, it's more easy to did a rylai than a liandry for me, cause Haunting Guise is SO FKING EXPENSIVE !

The best strength of TAMO is the fact that he can be played AD, AP or hybrid. Hard to did a good guide when you got so many diffrent way to play TAMO !

Bro, yea, you're right, but that's with every champion. Saying that your "counter" won't do "****" is like saying: A feed yasuo wont do **** if you're a good Soraka. If you're good enough with any champion, you will destroy everyone. BTW, did you thought about as if Rumble was also good at the champ and not only you good at Teemo?
