Whew, when I first got promoted to Challenger on Russia I had 212 LP, which at the time was like rank 109 or something, but I knew that the Challenger cutoff which was at the time something like 165 LP was constantly rising, and thus the average LP in Challenger was constantly rising too, so I wanted to win just 1 more game to make sure that there was no chance of being overtaken by too many people within the season's last few hours of ranked and getting demoted to Master.
Cue the 6 game loss streak. :^)
Fortunately the next day I managed to win enough LP to get back over the cutoff so I wasn't demoted on my first day of Challenger, but I was still only like 188 LP and I needed at the very least one more win to be in the 'risky but probably safe' area. So I managed to win 1 more to get to 210 LP, and then was too scared to risk playing more unless I knew for sure that 210 LP would lead to my demotion at the end of today.
With about 4 hours left for the final Challenger promotions of the season in Russia, the Challenger cutoff had risen from 188 LP to 205 LP in less than 24 hours, and without losing any LP at all I'd dropped from rank 142 to rank 169, with everyone from rank 187 onwards in line for a demotion, and the number growing as more Masters got enough LP to overtake the lowest LP Challengers.
Considering my rank was constantly dropping and the minimum rank to keep Challenger was constantly rising (and only being 5 LP up from the cutoff) I decided it was preeeeetty likely that 210 LP would be enough to get me demoted within 4 hours, so I had to risk another game.
And I stomped for a 25 minute win! 231 LP left me at rank 124. 2 hours later I've only dropped to rank 126, and the Challenger cutoff is at 210 LP (whew), so it's pretty much impossible for me to drop below the demotion line during the next 2 hours, since it would need to rise by 21 in the now hour and 20 minutes remaining (I get distracted a lot while writing posts ok?), whereas it only rose by 22 in the past 22 hours, so that happening and causing me to drop 74 ranks seems pretty unrealistic.
So Challenger jacket is basically all but confirmed now. Thank ****ing christ because after spamming games non-stop for 10 days with all the scripters and EUW toxic inters it would have really ****ing sucked if I just barely got demoted on the very last day.
Now the only thing that sucks is I made a friend while climbing who recognized me because I have their main added on EUW, but I don't ever recall talking to him before. We duo'd until Friday, at which point he promoted to Challenger with 210 LP. He was going away for the weekend so it his last day to play aside from today and he'd been aiming for ~210 LP figuring it was pretty safe since the Challenger cutoff at the time was like 130 or something. Today he got back with the cutoff at 208 LP and realized he needed to play and pray he would win. While he was in-game the cutoff rose to 210 so he definitely would've been demoted, and he desperately needs to win this since he only really has time for that game and one more, so with his LP gains if he were to lose one win one he would probably end up at like 213 LP which is still extremely risky, and if he loses once or twice then he's 100% out. Which would really suck since when he left for the weekend it looked like he was more than high enough to stay in Challenger, now it's possible he might not make it just because of his trip's unfortunate timing.

Update: He lost his first game. :( He's in-game with 50 minutes to go, but even if he wins he'll probably only have 213 LP and the cutoff is already at 212. Really unlucky.
Edit: Also, shoutout to my boy Vicious Skittle for supporting me from like plat 1 to Master, unfortunately he started getting Internet issues and had to stay behind at D4, FeelsBadMan.

However there's a silver lining I forgot about but remembered since. Riot said they'll look into each of the accounts finishing in Challenger and check for things like scripting/win trading, and instead give the rewards to the highest LP Master players rather than any cheaters that ended in Challenger. I know there's at least two known scripters in Challenger that I've personally played with like 10+ times, so if Riot keep their word my friend should at the very least get the jacket and maybe the border in their place since he's rank 1 in Master so the first person in line to receive the rewards if any cheaters are found.
He won his second game and ended on 213 LP.
