Hey, this is nice build, i searched for something like this, i got bored with standart runes and also thinking about omnistone since u got all runes in 1. I go glp instead of ludens, cause it gives same stats and pretty good active which is really good with glacial augment. I also go iceborn, that gives me 45% cdr pretty early. Sry for a long comment, this is my first one and I just want to share my thoughts, since i use your runes after all. Thank you and keep it up! :)

You can also use cleanse on ekko. It's pretty good vs champion such as annie and if they have a cc mid laner and a cc jungler. Then cleanse is a way to go mate.

What are you thoughts on Frostqueen Claim start? (what Saint Kilian starts with). Lets you rush your item build faster

Hey man, great guide, but Abyssal Cepter was reworked and it's a tank item now, for those who are reading this, i recommend picking protobelt instead.

Hey just wanted to ask a question. The Korean caster LS made a quick guide to masteries for all champions. For Ekko he takes 18/12/0 taking Deathfires and splitting up masteries in ferocity between Vampirism and Natural talent whilst in the cunning he splits Mediation and Merciless.Your opinions?

i am an ekko main since season 5 and i am really glad i somehow ended up in this guide bcs this is the best i have ever read, but i want to inform you and give some tips you could add! You should deffinetly add hextech gunblade, i was thinking of it untill i saw faker trying it out, so i bought it too and it was really good! You get a good amont of ap and ad (wich never heart anyone), its passive adds SO MUCH damage and it slows your target witch is REALLYYY HANDY. Also since the ulty change ekkos have a hard time to sustain, with gunblade though the suistain you get is incredible (with out messing up his ultimate). To end my comment i want to tell you that yes, bruiser ekko is a more safe way to go but it is surely much more weaker especially in the late game. I had a lot of games messed up bcs of this type of build, i didnt do what i was supposed to do, assasinate. Also you need to have good teamates with the bruiser build bcs you cant carry and lets be real we cant trust random ppl through the net WE ARE EKKO MAINS AND WE DONT NEED ANYONE TO HELP US :P
Hope this helps, keep it up!

Spark2, just wanted to say your guide is one of the most in-depth and entertaining I've ever read. You sense of humor is awesome and the grammar nazi in me was silent the entire time. You seem very cool. =) Thanks for the awesome guide on Ekko. I'm just learning him and this was an awesome help.
Btw, the Napoleon Dynamite gif...LOL! Good one

that's a really good guide man thank you but i like to have the same build (with little changes) to every champion so should i build the snowball one or bruiser ?

The build you should generally aim for is Bruiser. Snowball is for if you're dominating the game! Thanks for reading!

You should really consider Zhonyas as a viable item. With the new assassins in S7 you should really be building it against them. -LOOKING AT YOU ZED-

Build is good but putting some armour in there as Xtra would be usefull... if he has alot of health its so much better... make a Tank ekko build???

Tank Ekko is a completely different playstyle and would require whole new sections in the guide--there are other guides for that build that are great! And I recommend in the guide building either Abyssal or Zhonya's depending on your lane matchup. If you don't build Hextech Protobelt, it's a good idea to build both if you're going with the Bruiser build!

What do you think about Protobelt on Ekko?

Apparently it's really good--I'll add it in right now, check the guide again!

Hey, really nice guide. It goes in depth and is a great guide to anyone learning to play ekko the right way (AP). Question though, It feels harder to get kills in lane as ekko after the base damage nerfs, so do you suggesst teleport to get through the laning phase and build a cs advantage? Or do you still run ignite? Moreover, how do you feel about the new protobelt build?

Protobelt is pretty slot-inefficient--the stats it gives are intentionally undertuned to make up for how powerful the active ability is. It's great for people that need mobility and have power in other parts of their kit (e.g. Vladimir or Annie). Ekko's kit is very mobility-centric, so getting more mobility isn't that useful in my opinion, especially because getting an early protobelt is going to delay other, more important parts of your build. Unless I'm unaware of some special new build using Protobelt, in which case I'd love to hear about it!

As far as the base damage nerfs, it's a bit annoying but in my experience it's not too bad. Tri-Force Ekko needed to be nerfed and this was probably one of the less harmful changes they could've made. Apparently there are changes coming down the pipeline (probably as part of the Assassin Update) to give Ekko some damage back, so just hang in there till then!
