Hey what's your op.gg and does it still work, also why do you take ghost? and would it work with dark harvest (for the ap build)

The summoner spells are rather conditional, ghost is mostly for sticking to your opponent but ignite is probably a better choice for newer players for the 1v1. Dark harvest could also work very nicely especially if you're chasing a low hp person and can chunk hard with a single Q. I haven't really played Warwick mid in a while unfortunately for you to check op.gg, but it's mostly about building around the opponent team be it their champs or items. Warwick is generally amazing for any melee mid matchups as he can tank assassin bursts with E and then just outheal/outdamage afterwards.

It works in 10.9?

Daedralus (11) | May 14, 2020 8:31am
Most definitely! His Q heal was even buffed from 90% to 100% at some point. Death's Dance seems to be another critical item as well with all the healing and tankiness it provides.

This has way too much work put into it for something normally considered a "meme build." +1 from me.

Btw, is there a reason not to go Deathcap? Is it less effective than the other items in the build?
1
Daedralus (11) | July 27, 2018 1:14am
I wouldn't really call this a meme build after how well it really works. I've been using this build mid lane and top lane in ranked as well. Sure I get hardcore flamed at lobby for "trolling", but it goes pretty well afterwards.

Deathcap is a good item especially with the AP bonus passive but should only be built when going full glass cannon. This would mean you would be likely to sacrifice very useful passive/defensive items such as a hydra item or a spirit visage etc. You have to be pretty confident when building that as a result, and I did not include it in my build since people would be new to it and the regeneration version of the build is what makes it so OP. But as the items list mentions in a note, this build is so super versatile that almost any item works for Warwick quite literally. So my guide is here to highlight the potential Warwick has in damage to one shot while healing enough to become un-killable. Therefore, people will have items they prefer more or suits their own play-style more so feel free to change the build around as you feel comfortable. However, I would always recommend sticking to gunblade and a hydra item as gunblade is critical for damage and healing while a hydra is very important for farming as Warwick kinda sucks at it with only single target auto attacks and spells.

Hope this helped!

Thanks! Yeah, I put "Meme build" in quotes because I wasn't sure that it wasn't actually non-viable. I'll have to try this at some point. Thanks for the in-depth response!

Please make a jg focused build please. I love this build.

Glad you liked the build! I personally love it too.. makes me laugh ever since I created it with all the tilted opponents going 'wtf' every time! On your request, I can put another 1-2 jungle lines but there is already one tanky build present for it for the time being.

I really hate how well this build works... btw for jungle do we build the ap stone or tank..?
1
Daedralus (11) | April 26, 2018 3:32am
In jungle I found tanky - damage to be better. Going 1 or 2 damage items and having the rest tank options. Tank options do include titanic hydra and similar however, that bring defensive stats along with damage. What I refer to as damage would be gun blade or triforce. Your jungle item can either be the luden proc one or cinder hulk. It depends on how you prefer to play him really =D

If you wanna be unkillable choose the tank path but if you wanna one shot poor scrubs go damage :)
Hope this helped!

Going to give your guide a small review on what I think is wrong with it so you can either explain it to me or make changes.

I'll start small. For your AD-Tank build you don't include Runes for the cheat sheet and the build isn't really AD at all. AD-Tank would be more bruiser, an example of that is actually my new build for my re-made guide. Yours is full tank with some utility. I say that because your only offensive item barely gives you damage and is mostly for pushing waves while still giving you more defensive stats.

You say to get Titanic Hydra first which I disagree with. I'd say get Tiamat then rush your jungle item because that way you have the clear speed and are building tank right off the bat. You will be very weak early game if you have just a Titanic Hydra with no attack speed or other defensive stats.

Also, instead of building Iceborn Gauntlet you should consider Frozen Heart because it offers far better defensive capabilities. Iceborn Gauntlet gives you that "burst" but only if you build AD. Considering you have only 1 AD item planned and it barely gives AD it doesn't seem like a good choice for your build.

Ghost on Tank Warwick seems kind of pointless to me.

Lastly you end with Mercury's Treads except with a build like that you'd be better off with the 12% basic attack damage blocked that Ninja Tabi gives you. At least in majority of match ups.

It is also my opinion that building full tank like that simply doesn't work. Warwick is far better as a bruiser than a full tank. I've tried many similar tank builds and they just don't work as intended. He doesn't end up tanky enough to play role of a full tank and lacks the damage to harm the enemy team. So he ends up just being a utility mule.

Now for your main build.
Hextech Gunblade is really good on Warwick so I won't argue with that. On-hit burst build makes you too squishy. It's like a mid laner except you're melee, so if you're ever kited you'll die in a few hits. You'll likely be kited a lot as Warwick due to him no longer getting movement speed for nearby low health enemies while in combat (Thanks Riot....) and his ultimate kind of sux, easy to dodge or block.

Also I disagree with AP burst over AD burst on Warwick because if you do AD burst you end up getting your auto attacks stronger and your Jaws of the Beast scales better off of AD. You can also then finally use Iceborn Gauntlet to its full potential. Anyway, if you really want AP then I recommend trying Nashor's Tooth.

The AP jungle build to me seems like best one you've done, however minus the Iceborn Gauntlet and maybe get armor before MR early on. You're obsessed with that thing lol, I don't feel like you're using it to its full potential. The way you're using it you'd be better off with Frozen Heart which actually used to be a core item on old Warwick, now it's kind of a "if you need it" item.

There's other issues I have with some builds, but I don't want to nit pick everything. If you disagree please let me know why.

Thanks for the feedback in detail ^^

I agree with you on building Tiamat and delaying Titanic Hydra. Frozen Heart is indeed an option, but I take Iceborn Gauntlet for the slow proc to get a few more easy hits. I would keep Frozen Heart to games you absolutely need it where the enemy team makes it a necessity.

For the boots, it also depends. If you are facing a auto attack heavy team, go for Ninja Tabi. But if not, and you are facing heavy CC, Mercury's Treads are always better as CC does hurt especially if you aren't that tanky. This would lead you to dying within that time frame.

I have tried Nashor's Tooth many times, and it was a part of the core build when I first launched this guide. But with lots of swapping around, I never got to feel its full power. When Jaws of the Beast already halves someone easily, the W attack speed takes care of the rest. For a tanky build, I would suggest Wit's End over Nashor's Tooth as well.

For the disagreement of AD burst over AP, I will keep with my explanations within the guide as to why it works. Im pretty sure this is more of an opinion based one as both work absolutely fine =P

Perhaps you are right on the "obsession" with Iceborn Gauntlet. The reason I build that is for the Sheen proc really. As Jaws of the Beast and Infinite Duress both apply on hit effects, it just makes sense to give it a power boost. So what I could replace that with is a juicy Trinity Force. This would give attack speed and movement speed and would cover the need of a Nashor's Tooth completely as far as Im concerned. This is due to your W having a mega boost on attack speed and building too much is a waste as you easily pass the 2.50 mark.

And for the overall squishiness, that is a choice left upon the player. To either go glass cannon, or damage with a few defensive items, or overall, defensive. It just all depends on a specific game. Players should really focus on who they are up against rather than following a basic build. For example, if you are a squishy mage in mid lane against a Zed, your first item automatically becomes Zhonya's Hourglass in order to COUNTER his play. Either building it late or not at all would be very stupid and the same applies to every single champion of this game. So another example stands with why should you build Frozen Heart if you are up against 5 mages.

Overall, our job as guide makers is to give an idea of how to play the champion with our personal preferences. But not everyone will agree and find other items better at certain situations. Thus, people should really focus on their game strategy to by not specifically following our build, but adapting it to what they are up against.

Thank you once again for the feedback in much much better detail ^^
I will be applying some changes as to some points I have also agreed with you

Regards,
Daedralus

Thank you for the response. I agree with much of what you say, however when I explained the issues I was doing so in the context of that build being needed. For example I'd never say take Frozen Heart over Iceborn Gauntlet if you're fighting 5 mages lol. I'd say get some MR, maybe a Banshee's Veil which I find works well on Warwick. Spirit Visage too obviously.

Anyway I wouldn't recommend replacing Iceborn Gauntlet with Trinity Force because look at all that armor you're losing. It would make a large difference to your build which may cause your build to no longer work as well as it used to for you. However, Trinity Force is certainly good so if you did do the "replace" you might want to fix the armor deficit with something else. Like a great item called Frozen Heart, ever heard of it? :)
Nah jk, you'd need one without CDR like Randuin's Omen or Dead Man's Plate.
