Lucian Braum is a well known combo. Lucian can proc the stun from Braum's passive easily with his own. Other than that, I quite like MF + Braum since he can keep people in place for her ultimate. In some situations, he can also clutchly stop people from interrupting her ult with any projectiles. ADCs with CC like Ashe also do well with Braum cuz of the stun-lock potential. He can also keep Ashe, and other immobile ADCs, safe in teamfights with his peel.

Braum's biggest weakness is his slow/weak laning phase. In order to do well as Braum, you have to think about the long term; team fights, objectives, a fed ADC. In low elo, games are far more explosive and the early game matters more than in higher elo. Braum may get countered or pummeled in lane by more aggressive poke-style supports and not be able to recover due to the nature of the volatile game.

I think I'd agree that Braum isn't really the best pick for lower elo. I think you will more likely want to go with a support with more catch potential or with more damage; then you'll be able to take the game into your own hands. With Braum, you have to rely more on your allies.

hard doesn't mean unbeatable, but I would never say that she doesn't counter Braum. She can poke him and his ADC and she can nullify his engage; at the very least in laning phase when there it is usually only 2v2 and so only 1 or 2 persons to shield rather than 5.

You are saying that you can survive against her but that's not all that you want to do bot lane ideally. If you purposefully pick him into Morgana you will, at best, if they're a good player, go even (if they're bad you can win maybe) but you can't hope to get your ADC very ahead since you can't protect him or stay sustained enough against, most likely, two ranged enemies to threaten them. Because you're not threatening, they can zone you guys easily and it'll be harder for your ADC to get CS.

Against Morgana instead I would go for someone like Lulu or Nami who don't lose out on their whole shtick when Morgana has black shield and who can trade against her, which Braum, generally, cannot.

I would never pick Braum into Brand because Braum is way too vulnerable to his poke. Although he gets tankier later, he can't defend his ADC well or keep himself safe in the early levels against Brand. The only thing you can do is avoid all poke and engage on Brand after he uses his abilities (his Q especially, since he cannot stun without it). It's also best not to engage if Brand is lvl 6 or his ultimate is not on CD, because it'll be easy to bounce it between you, as a melee champ, and your ADC. Unless he is severely behind somehow.

thank you Fisheyes! basically, because he's a melee tank, he can't poke people and he can't reciprocate poke. This is why you're basically forced to play a bit defensively; if you try to be too aggro all the time, you will get punished (poked down) and you won't be able to engage later as you'll be too low. But, I wouldn't call him defensive (=passive) so to speak; more like cautious, yet aggressive. You can play him full defense and babysit your ADC, but he's actually great in a full on fight and shines with burst ADCs like Lucian, Draven, MF and so forth.

nah you don't build any attack on Braum, however the more health you build the more damage your Q does. Just focus on building health and armour or MR if necessary, and getting those support items like Knight's, Solari and the like.

You don't have to have extensive experience playing with every sort of marksman, it is important to know what your marksman needs you to play like though. A Draven wants you to be aggressive so he can snowball, a Kog'Maw wants protection until he gets Rageblade etc. It's nice to get experience with a variety of champions, but knowledge is equally useful, so if you're not already, get yourself acquainted with different marksmen - whether you're playing Braum or not. I'd even recommend playing ADC yourself if you've a mind to, since that'll teach you a lot about what they need.

Uh alright let's take a crack at this. Google says route phase.. I assume that's laning phase.

1) Why choose Braum over other.. tanks and utility supports?

In terms of tanky supports, I think Braum's right around #1 in that category personally. But I still consider him weaker than the likes of Nami and Lulu (who I think are the strongest supports if you want to win) because his laning phase is just weaker than theirs, since he can't poke and he is vulenrable to being poked down.

2) Who does he synergize with?

Braum's good with most all-in ADCs, anyone who is aggressive and can take advantage of Braum's stuns. My favourite is probably Miss Fortune, since he can keep her safe since she's immobile but also because he can stun>knock-up enemies effortlessly and keep them in place for her ultimate. He's also good with Draven, Twitch and Lucian (who applies two of Braum's stun stacks at once with his own passive).

3) Roaming

I think he's a good roamer especially after 6. The trick is to jump onto a minion nearby the enemy and close the gap between you two. Once you're in close range you can ult them or Q/AAs, and you can land a stun really fast if the enemy mid laner is helping or has engaged prior to your arrival. You effectively give any ally a stun because of your passive so he's a strong skirmisher/teamfigher because of that.

4) Difficult match-ups

I have a list in the build itself which I think is fairly accurate at least from my experience. He does bad versus poke and peeler supports, so Morgana, Lulu and Karma aren't easy. But they're not undefeatable since pokey supports are usually quite squishy and you're good at bursting people down with your ADC.

5) Should I main Braum?

You could. Like I said I believe Nami and Lulu to be stronger carry-supports, especially in soloQ, but Braum is pretty strong right now (outside of laning phase at least). The new tank items gave him a mini buff recently which is a plus.
