That used to be pretty fun :D
Yeah I mean if they're already on top of your booty then you might wanna have barrier, whatever works best for you <3
I just play as Jerry (the mouse from Tom and Jerry) and always roll with exhaust and flash. I make sure they never get on my booty. It's really a cat and mouse game. Kinda like being an assassin, but instead of finding opportunities/moments to execute your enemies you dip in and out of situations to help your teammates with phat heals, silences and damage reductions.
I always say, whatever works best for you, roll with that. Forcing someone to play a certain playstyle doesn't work in their favour. It's just what I found myself working the best for me.
Have fun :D
How was Mordekaiser's room like, was it messy? Filled with metal band posters and electric guitars? Jokes aside XD Good job on escaping the Death Realm! He should've just went with Morellonomicon.. or Thornmail if your team was heavy on physical dmg.
All you gotta know is that the GW items apply 40% healing reduction. Both Chemtech Putrifier and Morellonomicon applies GW by dealing magic to the enemy champions, whilst Thornmail applies GW when champions auto attack the player with Thornmail.
All three of them can also increase the effect to 60%. For Chemtech Putrifier it's healing or shielding allies. For Morellonomicon they gotta be under 50% of their max hp. For Thornmail your enemies got to be immobilized.
There's not much you can do against anti-heal, it's a counter build item. Things you can do however is dodging abilities so that GW doesn't apply on you. That way atleast you still get full benefit out of the heals from landing Q's and using your R.
EDIT: As of patch 11.18 when using R, Grievous Wounds gets removed from all targets before applying the ultimate heal.
Hope that helps!
It'd be a blast hanging out with you <3
If anyone else reads this feel free to join aswell, everyone's more than welcome :D

So there's a reason I've picked these items for the build, they all suit very well on Soraka and together as a whole, if you read the itemization chapter it's explained why I pick them.
First I want to point out that the three gold generating items (Talisman of Ascension/Frost Queen's Claim/Face of the Mountain) aren't in a great spot. You can read my post on July 6, 2017 explaining why that is. What it comes down to is that you'll need to spend two item slots because Sightstone is not included in the build, so your only other option is Ruby Sightstone which is a rubbish item right now. What I'm trying to explain to people for a while now is that you can't just look at an item as a stand alone, because I would've definitely gone back to Talisman if that was the case, but since you have to look at the whole picture/build, Talisman and the other two are bad picks due to Ruby Sightstone being really bad.
I'd really recommend to grab either Watchers or Oasis. This way you'll also have Sightstone included in the same item slot as your gold generating item. If you read the Vision & General Gameplay chapter you'll understand how important vision can be and how information of the enemy team can give you massive advantages.
If you want more self sustain, your team to always be near you, I'd recommend Oasis in combination with Mikael's (instead Athene's in my build). If you like to rely more on your Q's hitting for sustain and like to move fast go for Watchers because it has a speed boost upon quest completion in combination with Athene's (my current build) it's really good and prevents high burst damage without immediately having to pop your ult.
Redemption is an alright item but really team reliant (you got to group up to make the most out of it).
As for Locket, the recent change has really shifted the item to be more of a supportive tank item, since it scales off % bonus health. Yes you can make the shield bigger with healing and shielding power stats, but healing and shielding power is more focused for champions that have heals and shields in their kit, which some players misunderstand (example building Redemption on tank supports that don't even have heals or shields in their kit) the heal will be super low and it'll be an inefficiënt buy of an item. Locket is more for champions that build hp items and possibly also have heals/shields in their kit, for example Ivern, you build some hp on him and he's got a shield in his kit. Locket can still be bought on healers/shielders but won't be as good as it used to be.
For you I'd probably recommend the following item set,
Watcher or Oasis - this way you cover the lack of Sightstone and add a bit more hp to scale your Locket
Swifties
Ardent
Mikael's - this way you boost your healing power and make your Locket a bit more powerful
Redemption
Locket
I wouldn't say it's the most optimal build but this way you do keep most of the items you're used to play with.
Hope that helps you out, if there's any other questions feel free to ask :3
Cya around~
Something for Redemption... It doesn't need to be used only for teamfights. It can save one or two people. Also it'll heal you. So more hp more heal.
I think Locket is needed when enemy team focus you. But yeah. You are right. And again. I'll try play without this item.
Hm... I must say that I've never tried new builds on Soraka. I'll try your build and your recommend build for me. Again thank you for your answer.
By the way itcs only my opinion
Yes and I also wanted ask when you buy Tear of the Goddess? I know you write you buy Archangel's Staff in late game. But you don't write when you buy Tear of the Goddess. Or maybe you write that and I'm blind.
Don't worry I'm not going to blame anyone lol. I always say, play the way you feel like works best for you. It's better to play what's more comfortable for you than play in a way that doesn't work for you. For example you can suggest a new player that x champion is really good and strong, but if they're not good at that champion they'll suck.
Anways, here are my thoughts/opinions:
I agree that Talisman and FQC's are great items and have great actives (as stand alone items). Yes, I've seen FQC being popular some time ago on mid laners. Talisman has saved me many times aswell back when I thought it was the best build (when Oasis/Watchers/Equinox items didn't exist).
I'm wondering if perhaps you're not getting too close to enemies. I never build Talisman and I'm doing alright on avoiding to be caught without the active, it's very important to realize how much space there is between yourself, your allies and the enemies. In some situations, for example a triangle (you, ally, enemy) you want to run around your low health teammate to take more distance from the enemy while you heal the low health ally, to avoid being targeted while also saving your teammate.
It really comes down to positioning yourself relative to your allies and enemies, movement speed helps with that, however the active sacrifices on vision. Now I don't know what rank you are and it doesn't really matter what rank you are but usually in low elo games like bronze and sometimes silver you can get away with not getting too much vision, however from gold and higher, vision becomes really important. The higher ranked the elo games get the more people will utilize vision incredible well. Just one ward can make a difference in knowing where the jungler is and what path he'll take and what he will do the next 60 secs. Imagine what 3 wards (and a control ward) can do.
Redemption is an okay item, there's a couple of things I don't like about it which I've mentioned in older posts but it works fine.
As for Locket, some people like to have a bit more defensive stats which is fine. I usually suggest to go for Armor, MR, movement speed or hp regen items and avoid items with HP, Zz'Rot is a decent item if you want some defensive stats and also gives you the passive that Talisman has, so maybe you can take Oasis/Watchers instead Talisman and then switch Locket out for Zz'Rot so you still keep the movement speed passive whilst having alot defensive stats.
As for Tear, it's usually an item you wanna buy early to stack it up, but since Soraka isn't too mana hungry early game you can completely skip it until you have enough gold to straight go from Needlessly large rod into Archangel's Staff 6th item. That way you need less gold to complete the item and also benefit from the 60 AP rather than having a bunch of mana regen which you don't really need that much. It comes down to the following: if the game goes on really really long you'll probably have time to stack it up when you have the full build and eventually gain a shield active for yourself if the game is still going on.
Again, build what feels the best for you but give it a shot try building them, try to make it work and maybe you'll do really good with it :) you can always go back to other items if you can't make it work.
