He has been better, but I think Rhaast is still super strong with the right items.

What do you mean electrocute is the best option for Rhaast? Seems a bit outdated, no offense

First informative guide on Kayn I've seen yet.
I'd like to give you this tip to return the favor.

Kayn is no Meta Slave.

It is more beneficial for him to skip jungle item.
Instead of increasing Jungle Sustain - 60+AD - 10%CDR
It is more viable to rush Death's Dance - 80+AD - 10%CDR - Heal+15% your damage. Heal+5% your Q and W
and given the chance to mitigate 30% of the damage you take.

Gifted his ability to clear well. Kayn can afford to skip Jungle Item's Sustain.
Unlike few others.

*Starting Hunter's Talisman, you get the max experience bonus from that item alone.*

First Back. Buy a Vampiric Sceptor. Giving you the 10% lifesteal a Hunter's Machete would as well. only +10 AD and the lifesteal works on champions. Next getting a Caulfield (Same as Jungle Item)
Now you do just as well with your clears, and have more damage for your ganks.
(If you are going DMG, a serrated dirk + vamp sceptor is a great first back)
This dirk will later upgrade - giving you more dmg early, and saving gold on any lethality item)
Offensive Build being, Death's Dance-->Black Cleaver-->Lethality Item

This is a viable solution to Kayn's early game lack of damage.

A roaming Kayn with Death's Dance + Rhaast at 10 min is a strong presence.

Skipping Jungle Item for a sustain build
Your core becomes, DD-->BC-->Spirit Visage. 40% CDR and a Raid Boss.

Don't call me crazy till you try it.

Kayn is slave to Rhaast. Not the Meta.

Replied to a person who replied to you.

I don't think skipping the jungle item is ever a good idea on Kayn. Smite upgrades are all really good, it's crazy cost efficient and it's almost 1k gold cheaper for similar stats.

I have tried it on other champions, such as Graves and Warwick. Both times I felt like I was weaker than the enemy jungler unless I was crazy snowballed, then I felt about even until my third item or I finished the jungle item.

an honest question bro, would recommend skipping smite then? but that would hurt the chances of dr or br right? or are you just saying not to build the jungle item anymore?

Never, ever skip smite if you're in the jungle.

He's saying to skip Enchantment: Warrior and just sit on the hunters talisman for jungle XP/mana sustain.

I disagree with that, "don't call me crazy till you try it" is a fair enough statement as Hecarim goes smite upgrade > trinity > finish jungle item as example. However there is a couple things he's not thinking about.

First, is he's replacing Warrior with a spirit visage. You're a damage dealer. Why skip over 60 AD in exchange for HP/MR/Extra healing? Your goal is to kill people, and as Rhaast you really don't need DD + SV for healing, it just becomes overkill.

Second, he's going straight for a Death's Dance. This is fine and all, but unless you're snowballing you'll be lightyears behind an enemy jungler in terms of items. Warrior with a smite upgrade is very cheap for the stats. 2,600g for 60 AD + 10% CDR and a choice of 3 smites, all of which are good. In the early game where 500g means a lot, you can't really wait to spend 900g extra for 20 AD + god tier passive. The only champs who loves DD and can buy it first is Draven, this is because of his passive. Other champions who like DD get it second or third. So cost efficiency is a huge factor that you cannot ignore. This also applies for the seconf item (which although I would prefer to go Warrior > DD > BC, more often than not you need the extra 500g and better build path of BC as a second item, unless you're snowballing)

Third, he's undervaluing smites. Skirmisher's Sabre offers basically a mini-ignite if you auto attack a target, but more importantly it offers an absurd 20% damage reduction. That is the highest in the game (on an item) to the point of absurdity. If you're against an AD champion, having red smite + ninja tabi + Death's Dance will make you incredibly hard to kill. It's really, really good. Stalker's Blade deals a nice burst of damage but more importantly gives you an incredible mobility boost over the target. To activate Umbral Trespass you need to deal damage, and against a hyper mobile champion like Lucian it will be very hard to get your Q/W off leaving you getting kited to hell. He cannot dodge a point and click, which gives this some crazy utility.

Although Tracker's Knife isn't something I suggest in solo queue for 90% of people, being able to ward like a mini support without sacrificing a slot for a utility item is super good when vision is kind. High elo/pro play will probably be getting this a lot, which is also something you shouldn't skip for an earlier DD.

TLDR: Skipping the jungle item is not a good idea. Even on paper it has little merrit. Smite upgrades are incredibly powerful, and warrior is crazy cost efficient. Kayn has early damage problems because everything scales off of bonus AD, you can get more than 80 AD (which DD offers) for less gold thanks to warrior.
