Is this still viable in 8.5?
Because I'd be really happy if Irelia JG still works, I mean, probably works, but still I'm a little concerned about if is still a good pick at 8.5. Seems pretty fun tho

Hmmm, I haven't tried it in a few patches, but I'm sure you could run a bot game real quick and see how well her clear and engages work for you. There's also the rework coming up so if you wanted to try it, I'd say the sooner the better.

I actually did already, but not in bot game.
For me....but honestly, who am I? Am I right!...she seems to need a HEAVY farm to begin the game, she became a mid/late monster for sure, but most junglers I've played against could do so much more than her in early/mid.

Honestly, I really hope the rework helps her in the jungler department, she is not bad nowadays, but not great. Specially when you're in Solo Q and everyone keeps feeding and therefore making you stop farming when you should be farming to kang too early or just to keep control of a lane while they're dead.

But I'm still getting to it....I played her a lot in the jungle before Runes Reforged and it was kinda easier I think. Still trying to keep up with itenization.

Somehow I feel like she needs tons of money to start doing damage, which I know is not entirely true, but some games were harder than others and not just because composition, but she seems to be kinda defenseless in invades.

I hope that with the rework you could get back to this guide cause I do believe she's still viable, just not easy as she used to be...Hope to see more!
