This guide helped me a lot when I was starting with Anivia. I am still using this setup. :D However it is shame this guide has not been updated in such a long time. Also, sorry but this support setup is trash.

A new season came about, and upcoming big buffs to the bird, might want to update this guide abit.

I'm aware, it's just been extremely busy lately so I didn't have the time for it. I've been on it though, the guide will be ready in the near future.

I remember when I first started playing anivia, one of my friends hooked me up with your guide and its been my bible in the early beginnings, just came to say thank you for your time making this guide, it has helped a ton of people out including myself getting the basics of the birb.

very good guide! one question, do you think it's better just to use precision or domination as a secondary rune? Because, precision will give me an excellent mana sustain (making during a team fight our mana practically doesn't end), but domination will give us a good cure (or mobility, depending on the rune used).

Precision or Domination are both perfectly fine. In fact, I went with Domination on the guide for quite some time, but I eventually started playing Inspiration a lot because it gave you a bit more staying power as well as a safer game (important in this meta) than either Prec or Dom, both of which are only helpful in combat.
Eventually though, it mostly comes down to who you're up against. If the enemy laner is weak or prefers to afk-farm (Veigar for example), then you can greatly benefit from the combat enhancements Prec or Dom offer, control mid, and start helping out your team.

Thanks for the amazing guide, I was wondering why don't you go inspiration for your secondary runes? Since Anivia has mana issues in the early game, would taking biscuits be a better option since Anivia's damage is relatively high?

Thanks!

I don't think Inspiration is bad or anything (and I take it more often than not when the matchup requires sustain), I just prefer Domination, not because of the extra damage, but because of the insane amount of healing you get in the mid/late game. It's just a playstyle thing, I don't really think you can go wrong with either secondaries.

Thanks for the awesome guide 7daysko, I'll be trying this setup later on and rank the matchups to compare to yours. Excellent job!

Best regards.

Hello and thanks for this amazing guide. So what im about to say is helpful(for me) and may be for u. as I was playing anivia on custom matches with a friend, I thought of going back to the base for a recharge of mana. Then I opened my ult in the base and i was sapmming my abilities while I had purchased tear of the godess. What happened was that i gained lots of mana due to manaflow band whuch is good for anivia. Even though i spend sometime back it gave me advantage in the laning phase afterwards. Was this a good move? Thanks for the guide again

Hey, thanks for your feedback. If I understood what you did correctly, it isn't that much of a good move. Manaflow Band only stacks when attacking champions, and Tear has a cooldown of 3 stacks every 12 seconds. This means that you can't "gain" more than 18 mana every 12 seconds, so in order to stack it considerably at your base, you would need to stay out of lane for a long time and you'd lose a lot of XP and gold which wouldn't really give you any advantage. It's a good idea to use Q, W, R after recalling to base so you can get free stacks before going to your lane, but waiting for any more than that would really put you behind significantly.

You're right that biscuits would help with your early game mana issues. Taking inspiration as secondary is a very viable option in general because of Biscuits, Stopwatch, Ap. Velocity, Boots and Time-Warp Tonic, all of which are useful in certain situations (in fact it's especially viable now that the secondary tree doesn't dictate rune damage). However, I still prefer Domination because of the absurd amount of healing Ravenous Hunter gives you in the mid/late game, while Cheap Shot is a good early game steroid as well. In addition, Tear+Mana Crystal/Catalyst, the items you'll mostly be building early, give you enough mana to get by in lane while constantly harassing your opponent and if your jungler gives you a blue buff (which also happens more often than not if you ask for it) all the mana problems are gone.
Please note that my build is just a rough outline of what you'd want to build with Anivia, who other than her core, is a pretty versatile champion. If something else suits your playstyle best (ex. extremely aggressive), feel free to try it. Like I said in the beginning, Inspiration is as strong as Domination for different reasons, so you could try both and see which plays better for you; there is no wrong choice to make here.

I'm just a little silver player but I've tried to follow your tips, very usefull thx much. I've a question for you if you can help me. I try and try in normal games to farm as better as I can but in the earliest fases of games I've a lot of problems with Ani. Sure exixt a way for the perfect farm with her, can u just introduce it? Thanks anyway for your great guide ^^

Thank you. Anivia is one of the hardest champions to farm with in the early game, and there's no real way around it. In general though, a good way to make your CSing with Anivia easier is to take the Attack Speed bonus from your runes in order to make lasthitting a bit more fluid. Also, your E has a faster animation than your AA and deals some good damage, so don't hesitate to use it if you're about to miss a minion (especially after buying Tear, it gives you those extra stacks as well).
You could also try practicing lasthitting in general if you want, in practice mode. It might seem trivial at first, but it helps you build good lasthitting habits to give you that extra help.

Hi, I love this build! I enter recently in PBE and in there have new three runes to use, you have tested Anivia on pbe already?

7daysko (7) | November 10, 2018 8:10am
Hey there. Thanks for your kind words!

Unfortunately I don't have a PBE account anymore because Riot deleted the old PBE accounts 2-3 years ago, and I didn't try to make another account after that. Can you perhaps describe the runes or send some link from a site that describes them here or in PM? I'd appreciate it a lot.
