Is it possible if you can paste an item page link to import (preferably in the guide itself for more people to see it)? Thanks!

No, you should use tools that you have built-in inside your kit. Waveclear, zoning and pretty sick damage output. It's all about positioning and not doing mistakes, if you really want to carry. Saying that everything is always fault of your team is pretty pointless and it won't get you anywhere. It's just excuses to hide your own flaws.

If you are losing, do you ever shift over to a tower-taking build?

AP WormMaW Mid (15) | January 25, 2019 9:32pm
Not really, even if you are losing, you should try to be useful for your team by building appropriately and try to abuse his zoning potential using E, especially when taking some objectives.

I guess, I just figure that having that 1000 damage auto from a Lich Bane and maybe a Nashor's Tooth would be more helpful since you can just run to a lane that is not occupied and blow up a tower in 2 secs. Just breaking towers until you are in their base. Generally I get at least one tower to a death when I try this. But I was in silver (although I only placed at the beginning of the season and then never entered ranked again) so it might just be I'm playing with noobs. I don't know.

Patch 9.3 is nerfing the adaptive stat bonuses on Absolute Focus. Since you have scaling CDR in your first shard, I did the math after combining that with the Transcendence rune and you actually get more AP than you would with Absolute Focus even if you don't get another CDR item.

So my question to you would be this: Should Transcendence replace Absolute Focus for your guide? And if no, is the Absolute Focus bonus stats that important for Ziggs where it would suffer from a less impactful mid game after level 10 due to not having more AP from Transcendence?

My answer would be yes. The early game power of Absolute Focus got nerfed as well as the mid and late game power. And since your guide is typically not geared towards laning phase dominance, I don't see a reason why Absolute Focus would be necessary. You will have 1-6 less AP than you normally would.

But of course it's your guide & you can make the changes as you seem fit. I was just suggesting a rune change due to the AF nerf of 9.3 that made it much less appealing.

Hello, I am not sure how would transcendence give you more AP than Absolute focus, since it doesn't give any unless you have excessive CDR?

TLDR It doesn't by itself. But with Blue buff or another Codex item it will exceed. Before nerfs, they matched each other. After nerfs, Trans gives more AP than Focus if you hold blue.

Absolute Focus now grants 3-30 AP from levels 1-18 where it used to grant 5-40 AP. From the example full item build that you have in your guide, Luden's Tempest and Lich Bane together give 30% CDR. Along with the Scaling CDR stat shard you have in the Offense spot, at level 10, you have 5.76% which adds up to 35.76%. Also at level 10, AF gives 17.29 AP.

If you take Trans instead of AF, the 5.76% becomes excess AP valued at 11.52 AP. At level 10, this is 5.77 less AP than you would have if you took Focus instead. But theoretically if you were to have Ludens, LB, Trans, your scaling CDR & Blue Buff at level 10, you would get an extra 20 AP and that would bring your bonus to 31.52 AP. And since Focus gives 17.29 AP, Trans has a gain of 14.23 AP.

By itself, Transcendence does not have a gain over Absolute Focus with the scaling CDR stat shard. However, with Transcendence and some other form of 10% CDR, The AP gain will outweigh Absolute Focus at all levels between 10-18 where previously they would match each other.

Previously, 40% CDR from Items and/or Blue + Transcendence + Scaling CDR would be almost directly proportional to Absolute Focus and exactly the same at level 18. (Scaling 10% + Trans 10% = 40 AP while Focus at lv 18 = 40 AP). And because both runes equaled each other's values only at level 10 and onwards, Focus seemed like the better pick since you had AP for the lane & early-mid game.

Now that Absolute Focus gives less AP, even if you don't buy a second situational CD item like Banshee or Zhonya, if you take Trans and you get Blue buff while at least lv 10, you are guaranteed to have more AP than Absolute Focus. Basically what this means is that if you switch those two runes and play your standard item build with Blue Buff, it will be like Absolute Focus never got nerfed.

I apologize for not being more specific in that last comment. But I did want you to be aware of this change and hopefully consider mention it when you update your Ziggs Guide to 9.3 patch. I am also going to mention this in my Ziggs guide as well. TBH you could use this information in some of your other guides like the Xerath one.

Thanks again for the reply and I wish you well in Season 9!

Why do I get such weak results from Ziggs' mega bomb? I drop it constantly throughout the game and can never get any kills with it. More importantly, I like to drop it on team fights to help teammates get kills. I get very weak results and I use the same exact item build you have. I would like to think that any AP 200+ would cause some decent damage with a mega bomb. I cause more damage with a minefield and bouncing bomb combo.

This is very hard question to answer, because I don't have such problem. I guess you are either way behind compared to your opponents or you are dropping it on very tanky targets. But like this without any additional information, I have no idea why wouldn't you be able to kill anything with that bomb.

Or maybe I just didn't understand your question.

Another thing to note is that it can be used for wave clear as well. This tactic is more reliable when you have max CDR. If both teams are at a point where everyone is just clearing waves and setting vision and there isn't any fighting going on, you can use your ult to clear a wave in a side lane. By doing that, you can force someone to answer your built up wave or have the enemy team risk losing a tower.

This tactic is more based on game knowledge and is reliant on how well your macro play is. If you can recognize a timing window where there will not be any team fighting, you can apply map pressure on one side of the map without actually being there and then have you ult back in time in case a fight does break out.

My final note here would be a phrase I like to use: "The limits of a character's usefulness is determined by the creativity of the one using it." I suggest you don't just limit Ziggs R to just finishing off low level enemies. Be innovative and reinvent ways to play the game. That's how I made that Ziggs Support guide :)

It depends when you drop it really. The bomb is not meant as like a super killing thing, but a finisher. You need to know they are low when you use it if you want a kill. Dropping it on a teamfight doesn't really guarentee anyone is low when it hits. Also, you probably are hitting people in the outer ring. that deals 100 + 33% AP at lvl 6. That would be less than 165 +65% AP + 40 + 30% AP or so on. If this is the case, then practice using it and try to learn how to predict movements better.
