Hey MetaSolaray,
Do you think Sett is still viable in the top lane after his substantial nerfs in 10.16 or should I main another top?

Also what other top champions do you enjoy/also fit Sett's playstyle.

Thanks

Hey so I had a quick question, I see most places like op.gg and mobalytics that building bork first is almsot always priority but you dont even build bork at all it seems. I was just wonder why is that?

Hey, MetaSolaray, what about Death´s Dance.
Can work or is not a good item for Sett
and Gargoyle Stoneplate

MetaSolaray (4) | June 17, 2020 10:46pm
Death Dance is fine, but BOTRK and other items are higher on the priority list for you to obtain. Gargoyle stoneplate is a strong item if you're behind but it makes you fully reliant on your W for any damage output. It's best on support Sett due to your low damage output anyways.

Hey Zed, While Sett has very impressive bonus damage and auto resets his strength comes from his use of Grit and high return on AD values. You want to focus items that provide HP & AD when possible (Triforce, Black Cleaver, STeraks) then compliment that with defensive items to continue fueling yourself. Getting a powerful Haymaker is always going to be the key to your success.

Yea, don't play full crit.

Hi MetaSolaray, I am an aspiring Sett player and want to hear your thoughts on Tiamat early. I understand rushing black cleaver for the power spike but tiamat gives the much needed wave clear and hp regen. It also makes your trades even better with AA AA QAA QAA tiamat.
Another fun fact, if you use E and then immediately tiamat, sett will skip the last long part of the animation. Am curious to hear your thoughts on this as sett is hella fun but i struggle to perform on him

Hey Shika,

HP regen and wave clear isn't the strongest thing Sett needs when a basic W will fully chunk most of the lane and if you need the last blow you can e it if you're not in danger. Black Cleaver is strong to get especially earlier as that 20% CDR means you'll be able to brawl more often and the more W's you can throw out the better. However tiamat is superb if you can be aggressive and pressure the top lane, if you use tiamat to also invade the enemy jungle. Sett is not a spilt pusher, but tiamat is not a bad item on him. You do have a bigger trade but TBF most enemy top laners are not going to sit still long enough for 4 autoattacks let alone a tiamat one.

As for the animation cancel I did not know that I'll have to test it see if I can replicate it easily and then add it :)

Is better triforce or black cleaver? i run grasp build, i prefer be tankier

MetaSolaray (4) | January 19, 2020 6:51am
Black cleaver is best for tankier, cheaper build path, more grit that you're already stacking with grasp. Go forth and enjoy my friend.

I'm sorry we have different viewpoints on the stance of grasp, but I do see you have a spot for Conqueror and I do agree I could do better on this guide to promote both styles. I may put time aside to give Conqueror some through testing to see how it compares as my feeling is it may be useful in certain matchups and even the better rune when you are a far more aggressive player then a calculated one. Both playstyles have merit.

One question. Is grasp better than conqueror in Sett?
1
MetaSolaray (4) | January 14, 2020 8:24pm
Hey Altara, Grasp and Conqueror both have a style for Sett this guide will be getting updated to reflect soon enough. Grasp provides Sett with stacking free health and in-combat sustain that he can use to scale more safely into the mid game. More health = stronger Grit shields meaning even tankier. If you managed to average let's say 30 procs a game that's 150 hp, a free ruby crystal worth of stats and a 75 extra shielding. Conqueror on the other hand means you deal more damage and have kit sustain but lose out on tankier runes and the HP total. It's about playstyle I think but I will continue testing it thoroughly.

How to beat Sett ? Just only Ban Sett every game :)
2
MetaSolaray (4) | January 14, 2020 8:23pm
Beating sett is simple, remember as a juggernaut he has low target access and his ult range is very small. In the early game he's very weak in 2v1's (Not 2v2's as if he can turn grit right around to win it hard.) so if he's out of position he's staying out of position. A few ganks and he'll be nothing more then an ult bot. Avoid lining up behind your frontline for his ult combo.
