Edit: Holy dang! I just noticed what caused the problem. When you use colors on H1 headings the headings get as small as H5 headings. That's probably because they have gold color as a base color for some reason.

Maybe remove the base color? Or maybe recode it so that the manually applied color in prioritized.

I didn't read your original comment. What's the problem? You're trying to modify the color of an h1 and when you do it gets tiny?
