Hello there!
Do you happen to stream?
I am new to rengar top and I am trying to learn him.
I have been able to do good on lane and get ahead, but I am never able to win the game with him, been kind of frustrating I am not gonna lie.

I would love to see how you play him to learn!

Hi! Sorry, but I don't stream :( I lack the time and resources required for it. But if you're looking for a good Rengar top streamer, you can watch Dekar173, best Rengar NA. I learned most of the things I know about Rengar from him. There's also P1Tony, tho he only plays AP Rengar as far as I know. But I do get what you're saying, it's often very hard to carry games with Rengar after lane phase since he can get countered pretty easily, and he gets outscaled by so many champs... But it's all about making the right decisions at the right time, and the only way to get better at this is practice.

So, is shieldbow still the best option over goredrinker or nah?
1
Dream Orbit (1) | August 27, 2021 7:12pm
That's a good question, I wouldn't say there's one better than the other, it mostly depends on the situation. In my opinion, shieldbow is usually the best choice against fighters like Irelia, Jax or Riven, since the attack speed makes your damage more consistent and the lifesteal gives you a lot of sustain, and the shield passive is also good against burst champs like Akali, Zed or Fizz. Goredrinker is better if you need to go for more of a frontline build and you have to jump in the middle of the enemy team, or against comps with a lot of CC.

I see, thanks! Guess Rengar top lane isn't an easy one to get used to. Feels like he loses a lot of trades with common top laners.

Hi! Well, I'd say one of the most important things about Rengar is his versatility, he can be played with a lot of different items and a lot of different styles, and I think a part of learning Rengar is learning how to play all these styles, whether it's bruiser, assassin, tank, or even AP. That being said, the first thing you need to look at to know what to build is your team composition and see what your team needs. For example, if your team has a Sejuani jungle, a Galio mid and a Leona support, the best option is probably going for a lethality or crit build, otherwise your team is not gonna have enough damage. Or, if your team has a Kindred jungle, Syndra mid, Jinx adc and Lux support, your team already has a lot of damage, so the best option is probably a tank/frontline build to peel for your team. Even so, it's understandable if you struggle with builds you're not used to, so it's totally ok to stick with one build if you're just starting to play in the top lane, but I completely recommend that you keep trying different builds to gain experience on Rengar. Hope this helps you out!

Yo sup i made it 100lp master with Rengar so he is a pretty strong pick in the right hands, but i find trouble playing against Lee, I can manage to get 1 kill early maybe but after that he auto wins after lvl 6. What would you recommend?
1
Dream Orbit (1) | June 14, 2021 7:11pm
Well, there's not much I could say about the Lee matchup sadly; I can count the times I faced him in lane with my fingers. However he's very strong right now and has a very high skillcap, which makes him very dangerous, since you're in master I guess there's not much I can say that you don't already know. As for build and runes, I usually go for Conq+Ignite (Grasp and TP can work too) with a lethality or HP build, depending on what my team needs more. Pre-level 6 you should be able to beat him, but as you said once he gets his ult it becomes more difficult. I'd say the key to duel him is to use your W's effectively, since most Lee players will try to combo all of their damage in a short spare of time; if you can manage to heal it off you should be able to kill him while his abilities are on cooldown. And just try not to stand near his turret so that he doesn't ult you into turret range. Again, I don't have a lot of experience on playing against Lee, so this is as much advice as I can give. My apologies.

I would mention Urgot, he is one of the hardest matchups in my opinion. Whenever you jump on him he can just E and **** the **** out of you.
1
Dream Orbit (1) | June 5, 2021 11:34am
Yeah Urgot can be tough sometimes, but there's a few tricks you can learn to beat him. Like you said, his E is one of the main problems, so what you need to do is cleanse it with your 4-stack W. When Urgot uses his E, he dashes towards you, stuns you, and then he flings you over himself. You have to use your 4-stack W as soon as he stuns you and he won't fling you back. The timing might be a bit difficult to pull off, but if you manage to do it you'll most likely win the trade. Even so, he becomes a lot more dangerous after he gets level 9, so I would avoid engaging on him unless I'm 100% sure I'm gonna win.

Thank you for your words, I'm glad this guide could help you out. I've been trying to add new info as much as I can but I'm pretty busy with college rn so I haven't been able to play too much, I'll definitely finish in the future tho. In case you wanna watch some quality Rengar content, you should check out Dekar173's videos. He's the best Rengar NA and uploads content frequently to his twitch and youtube channels, most of the stuff I know I learned them from him ;)

Is rengar top still playable? I havent seen him up there for a while, if you believe he can still be played toplane, then i will surely pick him up, i will leave you with one last word... meow!

Dream Orbit (1) | April 1, 2021 5:37pm
Of course he’s playable! Rengar has very good damage early game and his W heals are broken, making him a very scary champ in the top lane. I think the reason he’s not a very common pick is that since he’s got a very unique playstyle most of the people that play him are OTP, but he’s extremely fun to use so you should definitely try him out :)
