Great guide! When is it better to run AD Kat or is it just preference?

You generally go AD kata when your team needs AD or when you're facing Galio/Kassadin. You don't necessarily need to have a full AP team to go AD though, since kat still does AP damage even with an AD build.

Can I also ask how you're supposed to play matchups with way stronger wave clear? I feel like vs a lot of mages I just get shoved in and harassed and lose the opportunity to roam or be impactful.

So against mages or poke heavy matchups you wanna run resolve secondary (second wind + overgrowth) combined with Dorans Shield. Unfortunately Katarina suffers when it comes to wave clear early on as she does not have enough AP to one shot the wave with a double dagger combo. Try to survive early on until you can get a bit of AP to be able to wave clear a little better. If you can't and you absolutely need to match your lane opponent, it's okay to miss a few minions in order to be at the team fight on time.

Elec vs squishy enemy team, conq vs tanky team.

The notes mention Nashor's often where the item is not in the build path. Is this a typo?
Similarly, Riftmaker and Rocketbelt are mentioned by not shown in the build paths.

is night harvester viable?

If you're playing in lower elo and you are good enough you can make any build work. The reason why I don't build it at all is mainly due to the mythic passive. Night Harvester gives you ability haste as opposed to magic penetration that Rocket Belt gives. You don't need ability haste on a champion like Katarina. The magic penetration will be a lot more useful. In addition the mobility that the Rocket Belt active gives you can catch a lot of people off guard, securing you kills that you would not have got if not for that Rocket Belt dash. I used to build Night Harvester at the very beginning with Dark Harvest and called it the "Double Harvest" build. It's mostly for fun in my opinion. Hope that helps!

You need to buy Nashors first anyways. No matter what key stone you have unless you're going Divine Sunderer where you rush that first but you still buy Nashors second. Lich bane is a good item to buy after you have your 2 core items completed (Nashors, Rocket Belt). If you think you don't need hourglass third you can buy Lichbane.

what do you think about nashors>rabadon?

It actually has the highest winrate as a second item as it has gives the highest damage output for two items. However it's only worth if you're extremely fed and really confident you will win the game soon.

Me and a smurf friend have been climbing (well, I've been climbing) with and in mid and jg. Kata runs because she will be permaganked and can snowball 1v9 with a single amumu ult. recommend to everyone! 10/10
