Best Kog AP guide btw <3
dark seal gives more mana, almost same ap, more heal from corruption, and you can totally snowball. Dorans ring just gives you 60 hp + 15 ap, (the mana passive is unique), so dark seal give more sustain, more snowball potencial and a litlle less AP(7 vs 15 AP).
And this is what lol wiki says:
If you use your three Health Potion item potions, you're getting 112.5 health from this item's passive effect. This is 52.5 health more than Doran's Ring item Doran's Ring and increases its value to Gold 766.25, making it 218.93% gold efficient.
If using a Refillable Potion item Refillable Potion instead, it provides 62.5 health, making the item worth 586.25 - a gold efficiency of 167.5% - increasing by Gold 228.75 with each back.
As you can see, this is a lot more efficient then double doran's ring.
I tried multiple choices including electro in the past and no - it's totally not worth it. And when I am looking into your build and knowing how the champion works, I don't see it being better than current build. In plat elo you might've found success with it, but fact is that with this build I am cappable of stomping plat games. But obviously if the build fits you, it's all fine and keep it up!
Next, I know this guide has been updated for the 8.4 itemization changes, but when do you think is the best time to complete Seraph? The guide kind of implies both void and rabadon first but that seems a bit late and I'm just not entirely clear.
Also, now that the meta has shifted toward shorter games again, do you still value Gathering Storm over Scorch? I feel like I barely have any games where GS becomes relevant, on AP Kog or anyone else. I don't even seem to hit 48 AP that often before the game ends.
At first - it might not be self-evident, but I usually play around fact, that I tend to have quite some stacks on my dark seal, which gives me some extra AP and gives additional value to my Deathcap. Usually when I have my Luden + Rabba + Dark seal, I tend to have around 450-500 AP, which is quite a lot for 2 items. But then, you definitelly need void staff for 3rd item latest, otherwise your damage would get fked pretty hard, since in that moment, people usually have a lot of MR. Thing is, that when they buffed Rabadon, it's value increased and same happened about it's scaling potential, which is quite huge. You wouldn't reach that much AP with Archangel/Seraph. Simply - if you went archangel + void, then it would take you quite a lot of time, until you would get your 40% AP boost from Rabba, which is quite late. You can as well go Seraph + Rabba, but then you wouldn't deal that much damage to targets with MR, which is why I run Raba + Void. Then I tend to finnish archangel right after that. For me it seems like best possible choice and so far I valued it the most.
About GS - Scorch is garbage and has very little use during games - you can check record after game and see how much damage did Scorch do in general and you will figure out, that it's very little. It might help you a bit, but I don't think that it's so good. About those short games - I feel like they are longer than they were at start of season - either way it's short game, because we stomped enemy team really hard and I don't mind it - but we don't really need more early game power for that. But then there are hard games, where you fall behind, where you can usually stall game for quite some time with waveclear, which gives GS pretty good value, compared to Scorch. If you feel like Scorch helps you a lot, then okay, but I noticed, that I had around 600 damage with scorch after like 25-30 minutes. (I don't remember exact numbers anymore, because I don't play Scorch, but I remember, that it was pathetic.
That are my 2 cents to these things. But I am always trying to remind to people - if you feel like something is working for you, because of certain playstyle - go for it. What I am doing is very closely depending on how do I play the game and what I like to do. That doesn't mean that someone else with different specific playstyle can't have more success with something else. We are all different and I feel like we should always customize our builds depending on our personal cappabilities!
I hope, that I answered your questions, but in case that I didn't, then feel free to add some more in here! Cheers!
