You Question: Tough one. I think after what I have learned with Tiger Udyr, I will have to rework the AD Builds at least anyways. Rly don't want to brag, but I think my Guides and my Build Philosophies go beyond what is usually found with Meta Builds and some Off Meta Stuff. I want to give Schools of Thought to rly understand how to build around Synergies. So...

For the AP / Hybrid Builds:
As you can see with my Riftmaker Build, I agree with you there totally on Lethal Tempo.
I also see LT with Sunfire Hybrid Builds with Bork / Titanic, because you just apply so much on Hit stuff with them.
But I think Conqueror has its Value with this Build too against very closed ranged Bruiser / Tank Matchups.
Lethal Tempo in General Synergizes great with the AP Build w/ Nashor's because your DPS just scales like crazy. Mobalytics Stats also show that it synergizes well.
For Hybrid Builds, the Conqueror / Demonic Emprace Synergy is just great, because Voli applies the Burn with every one of his 4 Abilities.
One could argue for PTA with a BorK / Demonic Setup, but I think the sustain from Conqueror with DoT and Volis Basic Damage / Sustain is just too hard to beat.

For the AD Builds: The Triforce / Sterak's Synergy is not considered often times as it seems to me. I was not aware myself until shortly.
They are intended as close Range Dueling Builds. You have to see, that his W, which I would max in these situations, scales extremeley well with ALL of his AD. So Scaling it up with Tri / Sterak's / Conqueror, together with Sheen Procs and some HP Scaling, your Sustain and Damage Output will be formidable.
Also, Titanic hydra is often a go to Item, but as soon as you do not buy a lot of HP, it loses to Ravenous with say Bruiser Items, some AS and CQ.
You have to consider, that Manamune, Wit's End, Titanic Hydra, Nashor deal lots of on hit Damage, that will not be considered by Lifesteal from e.g. BorK (BorK will lifesteal from its own Bonus Damage though from the latest info I could find). Here, CQ will be great for overall Sustain, while LT / PTA will boost up short Trades. (Funny, with Darius it is the other way around actually because of his bleed stacks :) )
I see Ravenous and PTA as kind of a CQ Substitute too.

So if I face something like an Olaf, who does not care for my CC or a Darius, Aatrox, Yorik - anything that comes at you and stays on you, I would go for AD.

If I have to do shorter Burst Trades with some Mobility against a Sylas or Riven - Slayers in General, I would go for AP Variants, getting Plate, Drive, FoN in the mix for sticking better to targets.

If I am against lots of ranged / CC / Wall scaling / Mobility, I would go Chemtank Tank Builds with PTA for max. Chase Potential / MS / CC. Voli needs HP mostly to survive being kited.

I originally came up with my Build Paths, because I realized in my Games, that Chemtank Voli loses against Duelists and Skirmishers in Late Game, if your Team does not perform well or if he falls behind just a bit.
The Dueslist Builds have much stronger Carry and Scaling Potential in these Matchups.
