Hello there, so like im currently in diamond but still find it quite hard to lane against sett since his passive outgheal the trade pattern im having. Do you have any tips?

Hey, before my first back i don't really try to damage him.

In this match up I want to bait a lot, be in his limit of reach for Q + E. If you it an E in that rang you can mka e him waste is Q with some movement, but still damage the soul.

Post 6 you want to have placed several tentacle behind you for his ult. Generally if you survive his ult you kill him easily.

I don't really have more tips, hope that help you ! :)

What game lasts until lv16? I never lost to Kayle (Lane/Side)

But Level 11 is enough, she just need to charge the passiv on the wave before Poke/Fight.
Illaoi have a bad match up against range champ, mostly against attack speed champ.

But the Kayle player need a good spacing too ;)

Stride breaker vs gore?

Goredrinker for the omnivamp, all stat on this item are strong, and the HP + CDR for each extra Item are very good.

Stridebreaker is actually very bad on Illaoi, the attack speed don't help a lot and if you want more slow take Iceborn Gauntlet.

Hi, I wanted to know what you think of the ravenous hydra for illaoi.

I don't think Ravenous Hydra can help to much Illaoi. You don't need the AoE damage because you clear very well with your kit, the good point for this item is the life steal, but difficult to use because the item don't give resistance.
Probably playable but become useless over time.

So I found out that if you have Heartsteel on Illaoi, their spirit counts as a separate champion, so you can get a Heartsteel proc off the spirit AND the champion, so here's my question:
Is there a scenario where there can be a 4th Mythic option, being Heartsteel, and if so, is it more viable to go all damage at this point after Heartsteel or all tank?

The idea sounds good, in practice if you hit your E in max rang or if your opponent have mobility you can't proc your Heartsteel before the spirit disappears.
You can't push a lot early game.

I see a lot of streamer who try this item and the winrate in not insane (45% in Diamant+).

How can I play against poke matchups? I always find them really annoying and can’t do anything till 2 items at least

Sadly they will stay boring
Personnaly I play really safe the first 3 level, and I make slow push again and again to deny a lot of minion and win the lane like that.
You can look for a kill when you crash, you can dive with your jungler.

Firstly, great guide and thanks a lot but one thing I want to say is that against cho’gath wouldn’t it be better to use ibg. My point being that cho’gatht has enough hp to survive long enough that if you ult him he can run away from the tentacles. Although it’s true that he needs kills to do that but I just came from a game where he got quite a few kills from other lanes and also I got ganked a lot so he ended up getting a huge hp bar and just ran out of my ult before I could kill him. Also is it ok if in the late game I sell divine for ibg to stop enemies from getting away from my kill or are there other ways to try and kill enemies who would otherwise run away

I agree with you, Iceborn Gauntlet is better in mid/late game, and can help your mate in teamfight better than Divin Sunderer against Cho'gath.
I like to play with Divin because it helps to kill my opponent and then delay the point when I couldn't kill him anymore.

I prefere choose my Mythic depends on the team composition, and I convinced that each item has its utility.

this is a pretty good guide but i do have a couple questions. First can you explain when to max e first and when to max q first.2nd in your matchups you say that kayle is your worst matchup but even tho she destroys you late wouldnt lane against her be relatively easy because she is so weak early?

Hello,

Killing the spirit made with the E is very important: if you think you have enought damage to kill the spirit in your match up, max E to gain more echo damage and reduce the cooldown.
If you play against Tank or Bruiser, max Q is better, you gain waveclear and damage. I personally recommend this, all Champion are currently too Tanki.

Sadly we have a bad level 1 against Kayle (Lethal Tempo), we have a short window to take advantage before the level 6. After 6 you need to poke before all-in.
Mid game it's difficult to pressure, the wave clear she have is insane.
Winnable but difficult.

Hey, silver elo Illaoi here. I was checking your porofessor and saw that u did indeed rotate between conq and grasp, but some of the matches you ran conq were listed as grasp, and it happened the other way around too. Can you explain your reasoning behind that? Your guide is really good btw

Hello,

my table is simplified, actually both teams compositions can influence your choice.
In some cases I play Grasp because I need the permanent hp in late game to resist enemy carry for exemple.
In some case I play Conqueror for extra damage because I think because I think the fights will be long.

It works by feeling, the Item i need to play can influence my desicion too. I play Grasp vs Nasus because i like to play Sheen.

I need to practice for this news season, itemization change a lot in top lane for this new season, and my playstyle with Grasp of Undying is impacted.
