I play a rather good Morde and there are a couple of things to remember when fighting Morde.
1. Do not fight him when your minion waves are around. He will use them to feed and keep his shield up.
2. Remember Morde is basically in a class by himself in his ability to soak up damage. When you fight him 1 vs 1 it is a battle of attrition not a quick burn him down and move on. He cannot kill you quickly either so it evens out.
3. Morde is a assist machine but really not a killer. He will wear you down so someone with burst damage can finish you off. Do not target him, target his team then deal with him.
4. Protect your squishies. Morde's ulti turns the tide in many team fights, when suddenly he gets a ghost in the middle of your back line, that starts tearing up your other support.

Morde is stronger the more of you there are
1v1 a decent damage champ can take him out but if you 3 man gank him he will probably take 2 of you down with him
He is stupidly broken and I'll be playing him all week to get replays to prove it
