Firstly thanks for the guide which is amazing and really complete.
I just have a different opinion on MF and Rakan synergie which for me is one of the strongest with ok poke (combo Rakan's W + MF's Q) and espacially amazing teamfight combo with Rakan's R + W and MF's R which can absolutely return a fight.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. So maybe my wording is a bit off on this one. Peraonally I think Rakan benefits the most from an ADC with a bit of built in mobility to weave in and out of fights or straight op a hypercarry. Miss fortune doesn't fit these criteria, but that doesn't mean the synergy isn't there!

A (probably very niché) question/addition would be the - match-up. Given your mastery points and experience, have you ever encountered the match-up? If so, what's your stance?

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply. So on the matchup, I have yet to encounter a Lissandra matchup as . I believe I did play it once the other way around. My stance is that it's really hard to play when the knows her way around the matchup. Indeed as InFinem commented, using whenever the uses either or when going in. For the low amount of games (0) against support I decided to not include her.

I'm not an expert in either champion, but I recall that pro player Mikyx used it as a counterpick to Rakan in 2023, with 3 wins and 1 loss (including at Worlds!). Unfortunately the links from gol.gg are not working properly, but if you look for Mikyx's 2023 season and filter by Lissandra games, you can find this below:

I think in terms of thematic, both Rakan and Lissandra has pretty good disengage, but I'm fairly sure the idea was that whenever Rakan would use or , she can use or to prevent him from CCing the carries on her team. However, the timing needs to be on point

Hi! Have you seen the latest Unsealed Spellbook Rakan builds from pro players? What are your thoughts on them?

So the thing with unsealed spellbook is you have to be using it efficiently to get the value. I don't feel like it benefits my playstyle, that's why I haven't included it here.

Amazing guide! I am a serious 1 trick (Nami) and I heavily rely on guides like this to figure out how to play against other champions since I generally really dont feel like playing enough to master the champion myself.

Not a lot has changed, only for the boots and Atakan. For the boots not a lot, all upgraded boots are really strong so prioritize them when you can.

Great guide, mostly read to better understand what I need to avoid lol. As a Zilean OTP I found your threat placement interesting. Rakan is one of my 2 absolute worst matchups. I have easier times dealing with Leona than I do Rakan haha. Again great guide :)

Hi, I've been considering playing League again, and I wanted to know what your thoughts are on the new Void Boots. I have a duo, and we mess around a lot with the special recall. Would they be worth it now, and if yes, in what situation?

Hi Waxo,

So I might be a bit biased on Void Boots as I don't like them as much. In my opinion you want to keep moving as Rakan in and outside of fights and these boots won't help with that in fights. If you are really early game focussed and are super good at roaming you should go for these, but personally I play for teamfights more so I think I don't get the full value.

Hello! I have not played League for 1+ year, so I may be a little bit confused but I have a couple of questions.
Why do you go Zeke's->Warmog's, not Zeke's->Locket? I get that with Celestial Opposition and Zeke's you have 1500 needed health for the Warmog's unique ability to work, but I mostly see Locket of the Iron Solari as second. It gives you ability haste that Rakan desperatly wants. Would you say it depends on the match-up or that Warmog's is generally better?
And the second question: as I was looking through Rakan players to find the best build, I encountered a challenger Rakan main ("a Burning Memory"). Their go-to build is Glacial + Dream Maker + Locket->Redemption as their core. What do you think about it? Would you try it in a composition with 1 or 2 tanks?

Hi Quadii,

So to answer your first question, I don't know if this build is the best or most optimal, but it's what I find succes with. With the added movement speed you get from Warmogs you can roam quicker and have a better time getting vision down in the enemy jungle. I also enjoy the extra tankiness as I tend to play pretty much on the engage. That's why I get Warmogs.

To answer your second question, I know some people like to play Rakan as a peeling enchanter style. This could perfectly work against a comp with a lot of dive or assassins. I have not tried it, so I can't tell you the details.

Saw one of ur last post about symbiotic soles, do you still think its better to go lucidity over symbiotic soles for roaming?

So in my opinion symbiotic soles are not for Rakan. As Rakan you want to weave in and out of fightd and Ability Haste & Summoner Haste help with that a lot. Sure for roaming Symbiotic might be better, but if you pick the right timing, what of a difference would Symbiotic make?

Hello there, this is an amazing guide! Thanks for easily explaining things.

I am new to Rakan and I have been wondering about something... Can you actually mix AP with Utility? This is a problem I get with lots of supports, I am not a big fan of support items... It feels like I miss some damage if I go full Utility.

For example I've been thinking about taking Night Harvester (nice combination between AP, health and Ability Haste) or Rod Of Ages (the combination of stacks between health, mana and AP) as Mythic.

I feel like going a mix of tanky/AP/utility when playing Rakan.

What about Rylai's Crystal Scepter? It gives a lot of health, decent damage and it slows. Beside that, it doesn't cost that much like the other AP items.

Imperial Mandate has the nice mana regeneration stat and it marks the enemy which means more damage dealt by you and your ally.

All of that mixing with support items (like Chemtech Putrifier) because they don't cost that much as AP items.

How do you feel about that? Do you think is it possible to make Rakan a hybrid or would you say it is useless?

Thanks for your question!
So a hybrid build for Rakan is something that has been a thing as long as this champ existed. In my opinion Rakan isn't designed to deal damage but to hop in and out of fights to either start a fight or peel your carries to full extent. By building hybrid, in this case building more damage, you shift your focus to one of those 2 aspects, which automatically lowers your focus in the other aspect, in this case your peeling potential.

The second problem with building hybrid is that items are way to expensive for a support income. Most mythics are way to expensive for the value they provide, where only Radiant Virtue and maybe Everfrost are worth their value outside of the support mythics. As a support you want to be as efficient as possible with the small amount of gold you earn, so you have to be smart about the choices you make. I'm happy to finish my boots, a mythic and a second item when a game lasts 25-30 mins.

Looking at the items you suggest I'll give a short opinion on them.
- Night Harvester/Rod of Ages: too expensive for the value they give.
- Rylai's Crystal Scepter: The slowing effect has almost no benefits for your kit as the damaging abilities you have either knockup (W) or charm (R) which already provide CC. Only your Q would benefit from the slow application and you just don't use it to chase someone down.
- Imperial mandate: Is a decent option but you have to be mindful about the fact you won't be as tanky as building a zeke's for example.
