Halloween Giveaway Winners!

It's time to reveal the winners of our Special Halloween Giveaway! 😊

Community members celebrated together by sharing stories and original creations during the Halloween week. We've enjoyed going through all of them and we're finally ready to show you our favourites!

We would like to mention that everyone's stories and creations were wonderful. They made our Halloween better and we hope you've also had a great time taking part in this event. We haven't received as many entries as in the past years, but we appreciate and have enjoyed all of your creations!

Hello hello spooky scary peeps,

This year we actually celebrated Halloween at the office and we had a photo booth equipped with an amazing props closet. Me (black top girl) and my work bestie did not shy away from trying on the more ‘’gruesome’’ masks.

The office was actually decorated with a multitude of red balloons, since the new IT series is launching this month and I recommend you to also have a look at the first episode. I did watch it and felt a little sick after, but that is definitely a good sign for any horror enthusiast.

And now I am moving on to the star of my post, which are the 2 pumpkins me and my boyfriend worked on for this year. As usual, mine is cat themed, because they are quite easy to carve, as well as extremely cute, of course. And don’t tell anyone, but I am still wondering what my bf was thinking when he tried to put ghosts in the eyes of his pumpkin. Nevertheless, I appreciate his effort.

Halloween isn't widely celebrated where I live, but I didn't know this as a kid. One of my uncles used to decorate his home with pumpkins, skeletons and spiders. He also showed me what Halloween looked like in different counties. I can still recall the picture, a street filled with decorated houses and tons of kids dressed up. But most importantly, tons of candy!

So, me being a kid, I decided I also wanted to celebrate Halloween, mainly because of the candy of course. I went over to one of my friends and explained the plan:
1. We dress up
2. We get candy
Waterproof plan.

I dressed up as a pirate, but the suit was way too small for me, since I just hadn't worn it in years. My friend dressed up as a ghost using an old table cloth. When my sister saw us, she immediately wanted to join in, so she put on her fairy costume.

So there we were, in broad daylight (since we had to be home before dark), collecting candy with our very poor outfits. Every door we opened, there were confused faces and people saying: "Oh, how adorable. But we don't have any candy." We ended the day at 5pm having collected 3 pieces of fruit and a small bag of candy I got from my parents.

When our parents saw our disappointment, they decided to call my uncle. He came over 15 minutes later, handing us a bag of candy corn EACH. We ate most of them that evening, but swore never to do Halloween again. (which I did end up doing again last year, going as Batman)

It's that spooky time of year again and I tried my best to recreate the Phantom of the Opera as a pumpkin carving. Not my best work but I hope you all can enjoy it and have a happy Halloween. :)
