I've been starting to play him on top lane and recently, I got stomped (sadly) by a Heimerdinger pick and been looking into Darius guides as apparently, it's a SERIOUS counter into him. I legit could never all-in him at any time and just got 100-0'd so I'm not 100% sure how to play it.
Given there's not much detail about it in your matchups, what are your personal tips for dealing with this matchup? Anything would be great, thank you!
Honestly, I rarely I've rarely encountered Heimerdinger Top much, even in the past.
These days I've been OTP Lee Sin Jungle for the past 6mo after the first 6mo of 2025 I was playing Darius Jungle to great success, hence why I added a Jungle Portion.
For Heimer Top it really depends on how good the Heimer is and how he spaces and uses his turrets, for the most part I would just play passive most of the lane as he will likely push into you or possibly just sit on his side of lane with turrets and stay defensive; just depends on the Heimer.
Just look to punish his mistakes and stay mobile, avoid his stun and rockets at all costs as it will make his turrets target you with their charged shots.
Once he makes a mistake or moves too far forward then that will be your window to All-In.
You will need to All-In him away from his turrets if you get the opportunity.
Otherwise you'll likely be sitting under tower or your side of the lane and need jungle assistance.
If I get the chance to play the matchup again I can give more advice, but again, I've hardly ever played against Heimer Top and tbh I usually use him as a counter to Darius.
It's not a matchup in your favor and I would consider it Extreme or Major in terms of threat.
I hope this helps.
Stridebreaker and Tri-Force have all of the same base stats but they are weighted differently. Stridebreaker has more 100 HP and 20 more Attack Damage while Tri-Force has 20% more attack speed. A max stack Tri-Force passive does give more attack damage but only as you land more Auto Attacks on enemy Champions and get you 50 total AD, only 5 more AD than Stridebreaker has already. The 20 flat AD on Stridebreaker is much better from the outset and more beneficial than the extra 5 AD you gain from a max stack Tri-Force. And by then once you have 5 stacks on a champion as you'll already have your Noxian Might passive bonus AD as well so the 5 AD is negligible.
They do both have the same passive of granting move speed BUT Tri-Force only grants move speed when hitting a basic attack while Stridebreaker gives move speed on ANY physical damage dealt, including it's own active that deals damage.
Additionally the active on Stridebreaker is more beneficial as it is a small dash to close any gaps and also slows the enemy allowing you better time to get into them. Tri-Force has no such active. Tri-Force does have the Sheen passive dealing 200% basic attack damage after an ability.
It comes down to preference really but more often than not Stridebreaker wins out due to its utility, more HP and flat AD.
ALSO while Tri-Force gives you 10% attack speed on any legendary, Stridebreaker instead gives you +3% Move Speed which is way more beneficial in being mobile, catching and running down enemy champs. Move Speed is vital on Darius as he has no gap closers or dashes.
