In the current lore of Runeterra, the Kinkou Order is built on the "Great Prism" of Balance. But what happens when the keeper of balance decides that the scale itself is a lie?
Here is the lore for Akira, the Deceitful Assassin:
To the acolytes of the Kinkou, Akira is the embodiment of the "Middle Way." He ascended to the rank of Eye of Twilight after the mysterious disappearance of Shen, promising a return to the isolationist roots of the Order. Under his guidance, the Kinkou have flourished, their temples rebuilt and their influence spreading across Ionia like a calming mist.
However, the "calm" is artificial. Akira is a master manipulator who views the spiritual and physical realms not as planes to be balanced, but as tools to be harvested. He didn't just succeed Shen; he orchestrated a silent coup, using forbidden illusion magic to gaslight the elders and convince the rank-and-file that his predecessors were "too emotional" to lead.
The Blade of Whispers
Akira wields Kusanagi, a katana forged from "Void-touched silver." While most Kinkou blades are meant to sever the connection between spirits and the physical world, Akira’s blade feeds on intent. When he strikes, he doesn't just cut the flesh; he rewrites the victim's immediate memory.
"The most effective lie isn't the one you tell. It's the one you make your enemy believe they thought of themselves." — Akira
The Deception
Akira’s strong magic is rooted in Neuromancy—the magic of the mind's eye. He can project images on the battlefield of himself that force opponents to waste their strongest spells on thin air. He operates from the shadows, rarely engaging in a fair fight. To Akira, a duel is a failure of planning.
