Before the omnivamp boots there were certain situations I would go defensive boots, I don't really believe sorcerer boots are ever worth it generally ionians would be more impactful then sorcerer boots IMO since getting an extra cast is more damage anyway, but there are situations where defensive boots are fine, if they're full ad with lots of auto attackers tabis is fine or maybe you need the tenacity from mercs.

With current tuning of boots and dusk and dawn i'm going it every game
