I really like the idea of the Haunting Guise. It wasn't really an item I ever thought about, because it doesn't build into anything later, but I find the early MPen helps a lot against opponents who see Lux and rush Merc Treads. I also find it a nice item to get after rushing Philosopher's stone, since the Philosopher's stone gives you early sustainability, and the Haunting Guise gives you a nice balance of AP, MPen, and HP, giving you a healthy and flexible early build to work from.

Lich bane is one of her best items
Defensives items being wrong makes you invalid
Haunting Guise is put on the build obviously intended for lower level players
Will of the Ancients is apparently not an aura item that can support i team.

Survivability - When their initiators jump in your face due to flash being balanced and you're dead, you'll remember how stupid it was to go glass cannon 24/7

I would say if you're fed that hardcore that having the AP from Rabadons would be more effective as it would power up every ability she has dangerously. Lich bane is definantly a viable choice as well but you would need a minimal 100 AP for it to be extremely effective in comparison (unless your very superb at your illumination balancing)
