Yeah.. i get your point now :) and also understand the point about carry's getting the minion kills :) and why i was mid(once) was because my team was full of non range chars with no harrasment..(solo ofc)
but still as i see it a hybrid between auras and ap should be more viable.. because sivir can do the AURA job better

The thing is, Soraka is meant for support. She doesn't need kills or damage to do good. Also, if you get Auras, her supporting powers are multiplicative. Each aura helps every single one of your members, where, with the exception of your ultimate, all of your skills either just help one person or you and another. Starcall, in my opinion, despite being able to do decent damage with AP(which increases focus to you, as people seem to not think auras are as good as they are), is not truly needed in the support role except for the nice MR reduction.

Also, she doesn't need Clarity, as a good Soraka should be able to judge her mana and keep it up with Infuse.

Lastly, WHY WERE YOU MID?!?!?!? Soraka is a Support champion. She does better with a teammate... at ALL times. She should never be solo.

You should also let your carry take minion kills(I am stuck with the carry more often than not on our bottom lane. Tank for some reason loves to solo top). You really don't need a boatload of gold. You get all your gold from assists.

Another thing is. i dont understand ur runes.. ofc celerity is good but why dodge? it wont help you very much.. and yes infuse heals mana.. but not enough to farm creeps with starcall. and that means less gold, less harrasing, less healing and less kills because you dont have mana for it.
infuse is really good to harras with. i outlaned a vladimir mid with it once :)
so runes of replenishment in seals or clarity is good :)
and i think you should reconsider clarity. ive had most minion kills on my team untill in the early game because of starcall farming. and u can heal more as said

BUT aura hmm.. it will work ofc but if we think about her abilities

Starcall: scales with ap and does more dmg for each shot(mr debuff) a decent nuke actualy. very good for fb lol

Heal: 1:.9 ratio? thats good :) so ap would make your heals better

Infuse: idk the ratio but its decent. a decent nuke if ap.

Wish: dont know the ratio but its more than 1:1 think 1:1.3 or 1:1.4 and a global heal. u can get this to heal 800+ easy.

so ap soraka is a much better healer and deals more dmg. and you can build in decent auras like an aegis and will of the ancients or an soul shroud. just build an ryalis to(hey thats support to? 15% slow each starcall and 30% on infuse) and some other ap items..

another thing is. if u got an ad team and get starks fervor and such items you become an half to useless ad off tank support thing.. and you will deal near zero dmg and heals are decent as always but not good.. and come on.. IF you want an aura hero sivir is as good :)

BUT this is not to be mean, i just dont se the usefullnes. but a good guide and sorry if my english was bad

Well, I just wanted to make sure you didn't just bash it. This is how I play her and, despite ignite, I can support a team very well with it. My only thing is that Soraka becomes useless when she is on CD. The auras make her even more of a support role. I also don't like to focus on AP seeing as she is meant as support. She doesn't need to do damage. Also, the heals do well enough to keep someone alive long enough to make the other team make a mistake. You can't save everyone.

I am careful to not comment unless I've either tried it or something like it...I have done just this before....I find that as soon as someone on your team gets ignited your heals become worthless...the main thing I did different is I replaced the Aegis with Frozen Heart. Why make Soraka an aura machine if Sona already is one? She can't do it as well as Sona.
I build Soraka as a caster and I can heal around 800 damage with my ult plus I can deal a lot with infuse and DPS people down with starcall...what's the downside? people look at you funny
there's nothing wrong with your build, I just don't like playing Soraka that way...

This is just another way to build her. Don't bash it because it isn't AP. She really doesn't need AP to do well, as she can be an aura machine like Sona. And Infuse gives enough mana back with the mana regen you will end up with if you manage your mana correctly. Don't bash this guide until you try it.

Soraka needs AP...Instead of getting the soul shroud, why not get a morello's evil tome? It'll give you some good AP, more CDR, and Mana regen...You are turning Soraka into an aura machine...at that point you might as well play Sona (as much as I like Sona for her clutch stun).
Soraka the aura machine will suck at healing because there are so many things that reduce healing by 50% that you really need the AP to keep up...and Infuse heals so little mana back that you really need a mana regen item if you don't take clarity.
Builds like this are exactly why Soraka is so underrated.
