I can't argue with that approach. I tend to get it first just because the longer you have it the better it gets (capped of coarse) so I like to get it early. Anyways, I find hes so easy to farm with early on that it doesn't take long to get both.

That's an interesting choice. Honestly, I rarely find my ultimate being interrupted when I need it most. Maybe its a bit of luck, but if you choose your targets and locations carefully, and with the significant range of your ultimate, I don't believe you need fear being interrupted too often. That strategy may be a wiser build order IF and only IF the other team has 3 or more people that can interrupt. Even then, if you choose your moment to ultimate wisely, you can deal significant damage before anyone has a chance to interupt you. Good lane control with Malzahar can be rather easy, especially once you get Rylais in my opinion. Champions are force to either run away or towards you when you place it under them. If they start to run away, that is when you ult, trapping one of them on the Null Zone, and relying on the reaction time of your enemies who are likely off your Null Zone on the other side to at least channel the majority of your damage. With the high HP and AP of this build, if your target even manages to survive your ultimate, (possibly a quick malefic vision once its done to finish them off), your high HP make it likely that you can get away before dying. Hopefully in this type of situation you have a matching number of allies nearby (or at least almost the same amount) and they can pick off the enemies now gunning it for you. Also this is a great time to silence your enemies making it much easier to escape as it will slow then and prevent them from casting stuns/slows on you. There are not many champions that can close the gap of your ults range and get a stun/silence in time, especially if they were previously running away and/or you have minions between you and them.

Also I find it wise to save your ult for champions that could otherwise silence you ;). This makes Malzahar particularly good against champions like Annie who you can easily burst down before your ultimate even ends (1v1).

This is a good guide but I think you should rush a Rabadons immediately after Catalyst and later turn Catalyst into a Veil so people can't stop your suppression.

Yea I noticed two people just voted this build down but didn't comment leaving me at odds as to what they didn't like. Learnt that lesson fast enough. The reason I think Mal is better with high HP is that his ult essentially stuns him leaving him quite vulnerable. If you can be burst down too easy while channeling it, well, he looses a lot of potential, especially late game.

I love to build high HP on AP carries. This works great with Malz and Brand, and Karma if you're looking for a medium damage support. I build Brand and Malz exactly like this.

Good to see you turned "Require comment to vote" on. You should always do that right off the bat when you publish.
