Hi guys. i'm currently lvl 23 with 122 wins under my name. my main is amumu and i play him 90% of the time. i normally play with another 2 friends of mine and they rely on me to tank and initiate.

so as a noob with no dota background. i had a tough time to blend in and i have been testing alot of build. and currently my core build is this...

Regrowth Pendant > Philosopher's stone > Mercury Thread > Shurelya's Reverie > Warmog

with this build where i stack hp. which i think is a universal tanking way and after thsi depending on the opponent's team i will either go Force of Nature or Thornmail, depending on which of their carry does more damage.

my masteries is 2/21/0 currently at lvl 23
and running mark of insight, seal of clarity, glyph of celebrity and quintessence of celebrity.

so after playing a game with my friend. he starts says that instead of warmog i should get banshee's veil. i mean even tho i can block the first spell casted at me so i won't get stunned blah blah blah...
i think i enjoy the extra 900hp more for my build and i can seriously last longer in team fights. i mean 1s more attacks on me means my carry can kill more instead of getting killed am i right?

what you guys think?

yeah, you should. without any resistances you don't really get much out of HP, any caster can kill you easily.
Also, why don't you build aegis?

warmogs usually isnt a good item to build as you either

a) get it early game and have no resists but farm it up
b) get it late game and have great resists but no farm for it

what i usually do if i want to build a warmogs is buy a negatron and a chainmail before building the warmogs, then upgrading the negatron or chainmail depending on what the enemy team is.

i used to get aegis. but that was before i went shurelya. i find with with shurelya's and warmog you will have over 3.5k hp easily. so if i get aegis or banshee veil, will haveing 2.6k hp good enough to tank?

Aegis is the main tank item. Banshee's veil is good in general because it gives nice resistances and a spell shield. You will be a fine tank for the time being.

It's all about keeping a balance resistances and HP.
Let's say you have high armor, but low magic resist. Even if you have more HP, you'll still be taking more damage from magic sources and it'll probably hurt you a lot. If you get more magic resist, even if your HP is lower and so is the damage you're taking.

As Lugignaf said, Aegis is a great tank item. It gives you and your team a big bonus :)

so...

philosopher's stone > mercury's thread > aegis of legions > banshee's veil > sunfire > randuins omen

should be a good standard tank build?

U sure can get Warmogs, but u have to know how to make good use of tons of HP. I play as Mordekaiser and after Dorans Shield, I get Warmogs.

People say Im wrong and its useless, but thats the way I learned how to play as Mordekaiser. Even because during early game I dont take much dmg, so I dont need to focus on armor or MR.

But thats your choice. If u like or not, its your decision. I recommend u to try. Each battle you change the build.
