This build lets you deal a decent amount of damage. You thinking that Morde should be build full AP is no good. Morde has very weak AP ratios and building him full AP is not worth it. Also you will be burned down in teamfights due to your lack of resistances.

I think Rylai's is necessary. Morde lacks CC abilities and Rylai's gives you just that small amount of CC you need. I doubt it will do much for you when a whole team is after you, but it will defenitely help you escape or get the kill in some scenarios. Will of the Ancients or spellvamp are good alternatives though if you really don't want Rylai's because of its price or HP but when you still need the AP.

Loving the Frozen Heart + Abyssal core items, but i still think that Rylai's is a fundamentally bad item on Mordekaiser compared to it's alternatives.

Your tank is much better because of the CDR, and all your team members benefit from the slower auto attacks.

I won't say Frozen Heart is out right better, but it's a very strong alternative to Thornmail.

I´m aware of the 20% CDR from Frozen Heart. Still, I'm not sure if its other passive is as good as Randuin's passives. I'll have to run some more testgames for that.

For now Randuin's will have to go as a sixth item on this build which is situational. I do actually find Randuin's to be very usefull on Morde. Going to run some more testgames and - if I like one of those better than Thornmail - maybe I'll swap Thornmail for Randuin's or Frozen Heart. I agree that the CDR is very usefull. Maybe even more usefull than Thornmail's passive.
