Perseverance does NOT affect Spell Vamp or Lifesteal. It only effects Health and Mana REGENERATION. Perseverence is really only worth taking over Good Hands if you've got some (I'd even argue more than one) crazy regen item for either health or mana, because when you really get down to it, a 4% increase on regeneration isn't much unless you specialize in it with items.
I'm not even getting into the Good Hands vs. Perseverence debate to be honest, I'm just saying that you're taking the Mastery for something it doesn't do.
Hello there.
Looks like a nice worked out guide and I'm deffinately gonna try this although I'm one of those guys going boots/3pots (with succes though =P).
I'd just like to point out the pro's and cons about both builds and would like to hear your answer to that.
Pro's boots/pots:
- 600 health from pots
- easier to dodge skillshots
- easier to land your attack after mark
- Good way to practise with Akali as you can make a few mistakes due to the pots.
Cons:
- 7 runes wasted for AD, so no magic pen, this will backfire at any time you wouldn't have needed boots or the 3 pots.
- Not nearly as much damage as the doran/magicpen way if you can catch them without boots.
Pro's Doran's/magicpen
- MOAR DAMAGE
- Way better midgame due to the extra magic pen.
- Gives health back more passively, and not by activating potions.
- Gives 100 more starting health, this can give some advantages.
Cons:
- Doran's doesn't build into anything and can only be sold/replaced once you get the Hextech Gunblade.
- 3% lifesteal isn't that much although anything helps.
- Slow Akali is slow
I'm no expert on this or anything, but I can see both builds working fine, one being a little better in some situations, and the other being better at others.
I only think where you go wrong is that with akali vs akali the doran's build is obviously better. You deal more damage, and he's coming to you to hit you, so you don't need the boots either.
Anyway, nice guide!
Thank you and although I don't recommend boots, it's true it's easier to dodge skill shots and run away, you just have to play very smart, you know? If that's how you like to play her and you succeed, by all means. I just really appreciate the sustainability but boots are situational on who you're laning against, like a Caitlyn for instance, and since you don't exactly know who you're going to lane against.
I just think Doran's Blade is always safe for farming and last hitting and dealing enough damage to scare off enemies. Boots you have to play more passive and wind the enemies health down which is usually hard especially when they can regen such little damage back. But yeah. [:

Yes, mynameisjc nailed it, I'm not correcting anything, there are no "thinking mistakes" whatever that's supposed to mean. I USE to do 15/15/0 but I truly believe now after playing her for so long that the 3 points in perseverance is more beneficial than two more points to the health mastery, which is fine, either way. To say Perseverance is useless, though, on every champion is ridiculous, it works well on Irelia and Vlad too and other champs with healing abilities or long ranged champs like Cait that get Doran's Blade first. If anything, I think AD runes are a waste when you can simply get a Doran's Blade and still have those magic pen marks because honestly, AD marks are useless later. You don't NEED both her passives right off the bat just for to rush boots, hence why I made it in a way you can just have both at level 2, a good amount of health to start with and energy seals are very nice.
I just don't agree with boots first-first EVER on her, you're just still too squishy without a Doran's Blade and there's no real point in getting them first, you can still harass effectively combined with her shroud to slow and Q without a little speed. It's better to rely on healing back damage with the extra % lifesteal than 3 health pots that you'll probably blow through. I have never seen an Akali in all my games do good with boots first in my own experience, and I've even lane'd against them and I'm able to destroy them every time or at least have them running.
okay quite some stuff
but tbh you argue about 4% increased regen and 3% lifesteal form dorans... WTF? 3% lifesteal is 2 health form an autoattack on lvl 1...!!!! and these 4% regen are also i think 5 hp when you q onc... correct me but are 3 and 5 hp really worth not gettin 36hp? and i really loled hard when you said you wanna start of with the lifesteal from dorans and not hp pots xDDD you DON´T get any from the lifesteal from dorans ;D
and btw when having the passives active at lvl 1 you will do 6 dmg more with each aa...
next point - the boots... well if you lane against a very slow champ such as tf it may be fine but if you lane against fast champs and if they are smart you will never ever hit your q!
what elo are yuo playin on? 500? sorry guy...
so you saved 475 money in the beginning and if you play smart you will stay in lane longer than you enemy cuz you have 3 hp pots and no mana... so all in all you will be better off early game->mid game and this is where akali is the best imo.
Well and as a last point change that fcking q skilling thing you cannot skill q till lvl 6...
Edit: Jwas thinkin about why you need thesse 2 points in offensive tree for ad... dorans gives you 10... wouldn´t 9-21 or dunno what be better?
The extra three points you add into the defensive mastery doesn't necessarily do as much as the three points in perseverance. Since perseverance adds extra to regeneration and healing, that passive spell vamp she gets is amplified at just a little bit more, and the extra one or two damage you avoid by putting those three points into the defensive mastery are negligible. But to be honest, that part should be on preference. If you want to use those three points into defensive mastery, then by all means go ahead, since they won't change the actual gameplay dramatically.

yeh, your right. i personally get sheen earlier, quite nice dmg increase.
Edit:
Why do you go 15-12-3?
I myself go 15-15-0 so i can have both passives with lvl and boots (with ad runes). Can you plz explain that to me? Cuz Perseverance is quite useless on every char.
For these reasons, you won´t need the 2ad to activate the passive
sorry 2much thinking mistakes, -1 if you correct it yuo get +1

Haha. I know the summoner spells are common but the item sequence is not in the same order as other builds I have seen. And I've noticed my choice of masteries, and Energy Seals of choice aren't common either. But thanks for your input. :P
