For some reason Mibbit doesn't include DALnet in their default server list. Click the "Server" link to manually enter a server and paste in one of the servers from the DALnet website;

So anyone know how to automatically "/identify" in chatzilla? It can't find the server when executing it in the "auto-perform" list --.--

What Is IRC?
For those of you that are new to IRC, you can find a little explanation of what it is over at mIRC's website. IRC is global live text chat that is completely open, no one "owns" IRC, unlink Vent or Skype. Lots of client options, lots of server options, easy to use. IRC is also the standard method of chatting on many live streaming sites, most live streamers have their own IRC channel.
What Client Should I Use?
There are many IRC clients to choose from, on any platform. The easiest option is to use the link at the top of this post to jump right in with a web client. If you start hanging out on IRC more frequently, you might want to get a software client that gives you more options and power.
The simplest choices for a Windows machine are either mIRC or the ChatZilla Firefox plugin. mIRC will start nagging you to register after 30 days of use, but it will still work completely. The ChatZilla plugin is entirely free.
There are also some multi-protocol programs that handle IRC in addition to other IMs (like MSN and Yahoo), such as Pidgin.
You can also find web-based IRC clients, such as Mibbit.
Ok I Have a Client, Now How Do I Connect?
To join us, simply run your preferred IRC client and then connect to any QuakeNet server. Your IRC client should have QuakeNet in its built-in server list, if not you can find a server list on the QuakeNet website.
Once you have connected, join the channel #mobafirechat (if your client doesn't have a button or popup to join a channel you can manually run the command "/join #mobafirechat" instead).
That's it, you're in!
How Do I Register?
There is no need to register in any way, you can just pop in and chat. QuakeNet does offer some other services to registered users, but it's generally unnecessary unless you plan on owning and operating your own channel.
If you want to do that, you'll have to follow the instructions on the QuakeNet website to register with the "Q" bot.
