Try fiddlesticks if you like kennen's aeo ult. Buy Ezreal if you like the aiming system of kennen's shuriken (q). If you are just looking for a mage to play try Annie. Generally kennen is one of a kind in his skill design.

To me I would categorize Kennen as Ranged, Mage, Nuke, If played well can be a carry.
