You don't need Boots of mobility, since sona isnt a slow champion. Mercury treads are a must on sona, ionan boots of lucidity if they dont have much cc. And, actually, supports are supposed to take some damage, because you're trying to protect your carries who are more fragile than you, so rushing archangel's staff will make you an easy target for their team.
Also, is a very expensive early game build, youre getting Tear of the godess for the first item and thats worth of 1k or so, meanwhile you're gonna need some wards and potions. That means 2 things, you'll have to steal cs from your carry, or you'll get your build too late. Archangel's not a must for sona, just start with philosopher's get a Mana manipulator and that's enough regen till you get your core items. Kage's lucky pick is just useless for sona, it's ap is really low for the bad scales she has, its gold per sec. is nice but spending 700g for a g/sec. item that you're just gonna sell later is a waste

Providing unlimited amount of wards, giving up all creep priority of creep score and staying with your carry / team almost at all times, I cannot find reasons of not buying 3 gold gens since you can even upgrade them into other builds. Sona needs to be at the back of your team, its very hard for her to catch up with your team since your carries or tanks normally have higher movement speeds, i don't understand why not boots of mobility. I understand people discriminate Boots of mobility thou. :)

Great guide here, i've been having mana problems with sona usually so i do agree and like that you included a ToG in the build. +1 for this.
