I was torn between Yorick, Malzahar (or Malhazar or whatever), and Vlad, none of which I had ever played. After reading a bunch of guides, I settled on Vlad. After a day of games where a score of 2/10 was my norm, I shelved him and have regretted the purchase ever since. Maybe I'll go back to him again once I know the game better, but I really, really recommend waiting to try the free version of the champ before buying.
