They could buff her early game. She cant heal like the others because needs those mantras and the CD to get another one is huge (~20 secs), and the shield isnt that great at early because you dont have much AP to make it stronger.
But during the late game, she is fantastic. I instabought her, but I have so many supports that I barely play as Karma (but now that you created this thread, I'll remember to pick her next time).

People don't play her bc it takes a bit of skill to actually pull Karma off. People like easy to use champs like tryn and mord. If you can use her well, she is a huge asset to the team

She can shield and heal her allies well enough without having a lot of AP, but she has so much damage potential that its almost a waste playing her as a pure support. Other supports also offer more CC so she's really not your first pick for that role. Laning mid or top (and farming) can allow her to deal tons of damage and heal her allies for even more :)
Even still, you can hold up the early game without stealing farm from your AD carry if u're doing bot.
