Heal is garbage in all game modes, on all heroes, on all maps. Don't ever take it. Ever.
Its cooldown is too long for sustain, it doesn't heal for squat in comparison to HP pools (especially combined with its long cooldown), and if you need it to survive, you're doing something wrong.
Flash and Exhaust will both prevent more damage than Heal would heal you for and will be more valuable to your team.

Not at all. Exhaust is an awesome spell for every champion who can deal damage. I get it when play as Morde and I can really say that it always does a great job.
QFT... I usually take exhaust on blitz for it's utility... it's damn good x_x
