Solo Top is all about the champion you are facing, because counterpicking on solo top is as easy as nowhere else.
Swain, Irelia and Talon can all go top.
Swain can win every matchup, but Gangplank can hurt him really bad.
Same for Irelia, but Rumble owns her hard aswell.
Talon is strong vs laners with a weak laning because he can snowball from them really good.
He is also good against most AP casters.

Honestly, I would not have thrown Talon in a 2v1. Swain would have been my pick for best 2v1 in that scenario.

Probly Swain in that case cause he can clear waves with Nevermove and heal off Caitlyn's poke with bird form.
Yi and cait would push so fast and so hard, and they'd poke pretty damn well too.
You'd have to take teleport to survive a solo lane like that though.
