As you know the current meta consists of a solo top, ap mid, ranged ad + support bot and a jungler. As I already got almost any champ I think about starting playing Poppy. I just don't know if there is actually a position for her in this meta.

I never saw Poppy in ranked for a very long time. I guess her only potential lane would be solo top. But is she able to handle that? And how would you build her?

Well, she's an anti carry. Her laning is just awful, so she relys on that massive burst to ruin them. And if you get ganked, you can always ult and finish up if you know you'll die anyway. But its just to hard to play her EFFECTIVLY, im not sure she can be in the meta. Solo bot with a support, maybe. You'd need a cait top or something.

Situation for Poppy.

Kit=good
Farming=bad

This doesn't mean a good poppy can't overcome these downfalls but, it' really difficult to.

i have seen a few solo top poppys, shes more of an ***asain than a farmer. so i guess she focuses on killing her opponent more than farming. but thtne again the solo top meta atm usually has high sustain so it would take some time kill a good opponent.

Poppy is really good if she can farm early game.

Solution: Put her bottom and have her babysat by a Soraka

Not only can you farm properly, once you get a Sheen you can wreck most AD carries in lane

Poppy has awful farming early game, but as stated earlier, she will demolish most people because her Q does %damage. A support + her bottom lane should solve the farming problem, plus a heal with the support will make it very hard to kill her.

Poppies moved to dominion where they constantly WTFPWN everything that moves...

And since there is no ranked dominion play... you will not see her frequently on those :P
