I think you are overestimating how much farm Leona "needs". She is lacking compared to the traditional 5 supports, but she's not a "gimmick" support and was even used in a tournament recently by a professional team.

The main reason that people mistake Kennen for an amazing solo laner. (He is, but so many champions free farm against kennen.)

You don't know how to properly play kennen then. Kennen is an EXTREMELY aggressive laner. Sure, you can play it safe and never die, but thats not gonna win you too many games. Kennen specializes in early and mid game. You HAVE to take advantage of that.

Kennen's ability to crush lanes revolves around his harass/lane control.

You get strong AND shut someone else DOWN.

Meh, kennen loses to a lot of champions mid, if those players are capable of laning against the Kennen correctly. Solo top kennen is a boss, since he can hard deny offtanks. But he's lacking compared to other APs mid imo.
