Shaco is really good in jungle, if played AD, but at lane good as AD/AP/Hybrid.
You just need to practise, it's the synonym of OP. And Shaco ain't easy to play. I prefer to practise something like 10 matches in AI vs Co-op. Then you can go to normal, but don't go to the ranked's yet. I think you can be pretty useless in jungle, if you don't have some1 like blitzcrank or sion on that lane you are about to gank.

Practice jungling in custom games. Once you have that much down, work on builds/ganking/laning (blah blah blah...) in AI games. When you finally find things that work (well), go play normals and stay away from ranked preferably until you have friends that you can faceroll normal with. Shaco is a very temperamental character. You really need to find what style works best for you, because AP, DPS and Hybrid are all VERY different. AP relies on Boxes, Shivs at range and having Clone run in and blow up. DPS backdoors like crazy, has almost no burst (besides the guaranteed crit) and needs to be very mobile to get to where the enemy is not and push. Hybrid is a great combo of the two, but you have to still change play style by doing a combination of the two. He is a tough one to master.
Strength may win the fight, but style wins the crowd.

I was always told to be everywhere all the time with Shaco.
Also, I use the fact that some people underestimate AD Shaco. They'll jump in trying to kill you just to see the hp bar melt like butter in the oven.
Also, Shaco is all about out positioning and out-thinking/predicting your target.
