Great job man, you know you're Yi
You seem to be describing Master Yi as almost a 2nd support character which supports by raising gold for fellow champions
That is exactly what I mean. No other champ can do this as well as him.
I don't necessarily agree with your opinion that AP Yi is garbage. I have yet to lose a mid lane fight as AP Yi, and if you build him semi-hybrid he can carry almost as well and completely shut down their AP mid.
That being said, your guide is spot on for AD Yi. I even build him very similar, although I grab Fratma's instead of IE and PD typically, and my last item is defensive. Usually Thornmail.

Atma's is really good I sometimes pick it with warmog or frozen mallet as my final items, in games were all outer and inner turrets are destroyed and that the enemy learned to watch there inhib turrets, it allows a me to do great in team fights as long as im carefull.
Thornmail on the other hand is not good for Yi unless you already have lots of health because thornmail needs you to have lots of it if you want to maximize its effect.
I didn't mean that Ap Yi is comlete garbage just not competetive. You will find that at higher lv Yi can't take on many mid. If by Semi Hybrid you mean On-hit Yi, yes thats 100% viable. A on-hit Yi can start in lane or jungle and addapt to many games.
2000HP with 80MR and 120 Armor? That's way too squishy to be successful in higher skill games.
You obviously did not read the guide completly. If you had read the items section you would have known that IE and PD are the optiomal option as long as there is no need for situational items. The squishinest your refering too can easely be overcome with situational items.
