Try simple fonts. They work much better than fancy ones. Fonts like Impact, futura or helvetica work really well and give a nice final result if they have the correct effects.
Use a gradient map when you almost finish the sign to give the final result a better look with a better contrast between colors.
The composition is good but I would try not to leave "dead spaces" in the sign. You can fix that easily putting the render in the centre.
