That's a really good attitude to have. Same kind of mindset here, just trying not to copy from them to keep their ideas original to them.. and build my own way of making things.
As far as my work... Still learning, so its not going to be the best.
Most recent (Made it for Axtt in these forums. But tweaked it a bit to add my graphics logo.) =

This one is a bit... Well, artists will respect the art of it, those that aren't will find it "inappropriate". (So if you don't respect aspects of art, please don't click the link.) http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p177/christianpunk20/digital%20artwork/sexyasian2.png
Switched from using Gimp on the Scorpion one, to CS5 with the Daft Punk one. Getting used to the difference between programs made the Daft Punk and the ones before it (not shown) suffer from a bit of suction.

This one was supposed to be a wallpaper, so I'll just link it. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p177/christianpunk20/digital%20artwork/notfinishedass***inscreedproject.jpg
That's just a few of them. As you can tell, later down the line (my oldest ones) I didn't know the concept of making the render part of the background instead of just sticking it on the top. And like I said earlier, its not the best. I'm still learning. But at least its clear that I've made progress in skill, even when I do this just for fun.
