Hmm, why would you go for the Magic Pen Quints? Karthus stacks pretty good with AP and the +15 AP really helps early.
I really don't like the flat magic resist runes, magic dmg is minimal at early lvls and increases as you lvl up, so if you want magic resist, go for / lvl runes. I prefer the extra AP on Karthus, unless playing against something like LB.
Karthus really doesn't need mana runes, his e gives you mana back, you should get blue.
I never have mana probs with Karthus, unless I spam like a crazy man or leave me e on way too long.
great start from here, could use a variety of size for pictures, add more info, and more color. also remember to turn on require comment to vote
