Personally, I have played both AP and AD Ezreal, and I personally find AP better. This is a very good guide and I like it a lot, but there are just a two criticisms I have about it (note, you don't have to listen to them if you don't want to, but this is just my opinion). The first is that you should get rid of lich bane, since it isn't the best mage item, and replace it with Morello's Evil Tome, which gives you less AP, but gives you CDR which would make you abilities more assessable, like arcane shift if you need to spam it a bit more to get away if flash is on cooldown. The second is you should explain some of Ez's actual game play to teach those who are not use to him, but want to use AP (like me when I first got him, but there were only AD guides).
Other than that this guide has a lot of potential and could be one of the top Ezreal guides one day, just as long as it doesn't get AD fanboy trolled.
Lich Bane is key, because is procs on his Q
A few points i would like to add.
Boots > Sheen (early) > Deathcap (mid) > Lichbane(late) *
Early game:
Take mystic shot. It hits for 100~ dmg @ lvl 2.
Just farm and land mystic shots on your opponent -> 3-4 hits and you can basically zone them out of lane. You can spam it pretty easily due to its low cost. If you rush a sheen your harass becomes super annoying.
Essence flux is slow and easy to avoid and its mana cost is higher and will only do more damage once you have some ap.
I find this works well against lux you can zone her to the point where she can't land anything on you whilst if you are skilled enough are continuously spamming her with your q - your e works almost to well to avoid her skill shots.
I have noticed alot of guides recommend mana early - you shouldn't need to. Just make sure you conserve it. Don't use your w or e unless you really need too.
Mid games:
Once you have a deathcap essence flux hits like a truck. Go lichbane straight after deathcap. In my opinion lichbane is the only reason to play ez. It turns his regular spammable ad skill scalable with ap ~ it becomes your primary damage dealer tbh.
Late game:
Situational really ~ but most ap items are viable. You shouldn't need defense if you are positioning yourself correctly - but if you new to ez some defense items can be useful. Remember you aren't a brawler you are the clean up crew and primary initation damage dealer. Landing a full team with your ult from behind your team can determine almost all fights.
To all the people that say ap ezrael sucks - well he kinda does he requires a lot of skill and thinking to play well, you need to be landing all your skill shots. if you can have a good mid game with him its GG late game.
Ezreal doesn't need the mid lane. He can also rock the bottom lane maybe with a premade friend. I play him with your insane (!) build and get legendary good as every round. So the guide is very good because of the items. Ezreal is not difficult to play you only need to stay behind minions and your partner on the lane so good items are here enough for a good guide.
One more good vote.
Voted up.
That was what really gave you 1+ ^^
My kills with this build only items PvP 11-1-5
So...
I just played a game with your build exactly and it was going decently. The CDR and stuff early is nice, but... I don't do nearly enough damage by mid-game. I'm pretty sure I was half-responsible for losing the game because I was the main carry and couldn't dish out enough damage. So I assume I either last-hit wrong, or simply didn't get enough kills. I feel you should consider damage more and THEN morello's. But away from that, very good guide.
All I have to say: 'Dat. Ult.
(And +1)
I go really tired of seeing that and not being able to frame a coherent Here's-Ez-facemelting build to prove them wrong.
Looks like I get my chance! :)
Worked like a charm
