oh **** hawkeye was in the avengers. we need to remind people that we had an archer with silly different arrows first!
Yeah because they whipped all that up in about two weeks whilst the Avengers was out.
Silly argument anyway. If Ms. Marvel had an appearance in the Avengers movie people would scream "Superman copy!", but really, if you weren't allowed to have anybody that looks remotely like they were in the rival company then comics would go nowhere.

yeah because we didn't know hawkeye was going to be in avengers for over a few months.
anyway, its supposedly a spin-off of smallville. might be interesting but i doubt it will hold my interest for long, if at all.
and i was just trolling about the avengers remark btw.

I'm glad it's a series rather than a film though, they can fit more in that way.
Sometimes in films, especially those of ongoing long series such as X-Men/Avengers as very relevant examples, I dread to see what they miss out or what they don't get in properly.

usually with the films, they are their own universe.
for example, the infinity gauntlet (along with other important marvel artifacts) were visible in odin's treasury. and thanos himself just got a brief few seconds on the screen halfway through the credits of avengers.
in the comics, thanos created the infinity gauntlet the third time he tried to destroy everything, yet in the movies odin has it. i know it was just a easter egg (like captain americas shield in hulk and the first iron man) but still...

Why is stuff like that hyped and really good TV gets cancelled all the way ( Terriers, Lights out, Awake...etc...)
Just ignore good writing, make every episode a stand alone and put cops in it, or super heroes or rogue agents and the stuff will be watched.
If they pull of a decent writing this show could be ok, but I dont buy the guy in a hood getting all fancy with a bow...
Make it a punisher late night series and I might be interested :)
