Should I continue my Sejuani/Viktor guide(s)?

As some of you may have known or not known, I have had a guide for Annie published for over half a year now, but it hasn't done as well as I had hoped or thought it would have done.

I promised that if that guide got to 80% I'd write another guide, and it did get there. But since then, it has gone down and has been "outclassed" so to say.

My Sejuani guide could be shoved out in a week probably if I actually work on it before/after work, but the Viktor guide would still be a long time until it'd be completed. Both of the guides are going to be following my same format that I have in my Annie guide.

So I'm curious, is anyone interested in seeing another guide from me or should I just shove what I have out as an archived reference for people that are at all curious.

I personally find that playing the game is more fun than writing a guide about one small part of the entirety.

I think that since you made it a condition for
your Annie guide to reach 80% before you'd make
a new guide and it did reach 80%, then you should
continue making your guide(s). As far as I know,
You didn't say anything about your Annie guide
STAYING above 80%. As Chubby said, you also ought
to keep your guide updated, if you wish it to have
a chance at remaining afloat, in the face of the
torrent of like-minded individuals like you, who
also make or wish to make guides.

As far as guide making in general goes, I think you
should keep making guides as long as you believe you
have something to contribute and/or share with the wider
community. Of course, as long as it's also meaningful
and/or fun to you too. I personally play neither Viktor
nor Annie, nor Sejauni however, so I can't say I'd be especially
looking forward to guides about those specific champions.
Yet, one of the great things about Mobafire, is the effort
the guide-makers put in, in order to help the aforementioned
wider community. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if you
want to or not.

It's probably wrong too, but lolz. Keep at it LZ, since it makes reading your posts interesting." - ShiftyCake

I never said I don't keep them updated, did I?
I only have the one guide and it's still up to date as far as I know there has not been a change to Annie for a while. (Just checked, the last change was the change with the ult for how to move Tibbers.)

Well that is true, I never specified that it had to stay above 80%, and it is still afloat, it is currently #2, but it hasn't gotten any votes or comments for quite a while now so I was curious if anyone was even looking at it or if they just went to the #1 guide.

As for the whole sharing with the community, I would love to, but I have a minor problem with it all together. I am not high ELO, in fact I've only played about 4 or 5 ranked games period, but I do know a lot about the game and its specific mechanics, how every some people tend to disagree with me and think I am completely wrong.

As for fun, I don't necessarily find it fun making the guides, but getting the thanks and appreciation from people is what I like about it; if it goes like my Annie guide did, it was barely worth the time I spent writing that guide. Most people quickly disregard my guide as my items are different than almost everyone thinks Annie should get.

It shouldn't be about if you think you should or shouldn't, it should be about do you WANT to keep making them, Do you enjoy making them, do you feel it isn't a complete waste of time, Do you think it helps others even if only temporarily, because if it is something you like then it should continue being done. PS thank you for sig still btw

Thanks to Nyoike for the sig!

you write guides because you believe in something and want to share it with everyone. That belief could be anything ranging from proving Annie is the best AP carry in the world, or for me, Anivia is the best AP carry ever made. Your belief may change from time to time as your receive opinions from others or through your own experiences. But, as long as that belief is not fame and glory, you will not fail if you keep working hard to achieve it.

I enjoy helping people IF it does actually help people. I personally would rather play the game itself compared to writing a guide for just myself when I already know all of it. If people are being helped from my guides I would be glad to make more, which is the main reason I made this thread, to see if anyone was truly helped from my guide and was hoping to see more from me, so far all I've gotten out of this is that if it's fun for me I should.

The only problem with that view is that if the idea isn't spread, like a low rated guide wouldn't be seen very much, all of that work is gone to waste. I do believe in my guides and I put a lot of work into them, but a lot of people seem to not even glance at a guide unless it's #1, and ergo I hope to get a decent amount of fame with it, which is unfortunate.

If I could be certain that I'd be able to help people with my guides I would gladly make more, but I am unsure if there are many people that are being helped by my guide.

w.e you have to do to make your guide stand out, you gotta do it. i started out as a nobody in terms of guide writer, no one read my guide, and when they do they troll downvote it to 60% (back then the system allows easy trash of guides). you have no idea what i had to do and the unspeakable things i had to do to get myself noticed.

it's a lot like gaining elo; you have to squeeze past all the trash to get to the top.

That is a great point, I guess I'll work on my Sejuani guide and at least get that published. I'm not sure about my Viktor guide, as I have done almost nothing in terms of working on it.

As for everyone that has helped so far, +Rep for you, you've all helped me out.
