Hi thanks for your comment. Those are good questions :)

First of all, I haven't yet updated this guide for the preseason 3 patch. This is why the masteries are weird and bugged (there are 3 points in Frenzy even though it is a 1-point mastery for example). Graves really doesn't benefit from AP at all ( Smoke Screen scales with AP, but you don't use that for damage).

I also might need to update the runes and items, but they are still good I think.

There isn't a huge difference between AD and armor pen marks. The more armor enemies have, the less effective armor pen marks get. The more AD you have, the less effective AD marks get. I'm not exactly sure on the math, but they are both good choices. I think armor pen marks are generally better against champions (early-game), and AD marks help more with last-hitting (since minions hardly have armor at all, the armor pen you get from masteries will be enough to get them to 0 armor anyway).

I think it's usually best to get IE first, because it gives you more DPS. You can get enough lifesteal from 1/2 Doran's Blades and a Vampiric Scepter. If you're having trouble in lane, Bloodthirster is also a good option because it gives you more sustain and eventually more AD.

So I'll get this guide updated ASAP (I also have to update 3 other guides). Take a look when it's done ^^

Hey nice guide, sorry if this seems like such a noob question but, for all but yours and one other guide from a different site, Your attack masteries incorporate 4 or so points in AP attributes. Is this necessary or even useful for someone less.. um.. competitive? I also go with Armor Penetratrion runes btw. Also, one more question, I have done lots of research so I'm not being lazy but there are still many people who claim that an early BT is good. But all my ladder ranking friends try and opt for IE asap. (Obviously depends on opponents and how the game is going but in general) Sorry for all the dumb questions but I really can't seem to find any explanations other than the same old arguments or, "this is better because it is what I do" types of posts/responses.
