It's also a measure of trying to counter the thousands of bad builds that will flood the site by people who think they've figured out the new champion a day after release.
What's that? Play new champion once, make a guide about the build, expect people to think it's awesome?
The bad builds will still come out and get tons of upvotes from people who have no clue how to play this game.
At the least it gives people who have some sense of how this game works time to compose/format a guide, then throw it into Hell and hope it comes out on the other side with some respectable standing.
Hope we get rid of % votes all together, too many people out there who want to be number 1 even when their guides/builds are sub optimal or completely troll...I mean there is a reason the only time mobafire is mentioned on a stream, usually it's the butt of a joke.
The social community and what have you is rather good here. But when everyone can make a guide, best believe there will be lots of bad ones. Which always seem to get popular.
It is always quite clever to wait with a guide release until the next champ is out, otherwise your guide may be brilliant but you will still need a lot of support by the veterans to counter all the troll/envy downvotes.
Usually everybody thinks that his/her guide is the **** and half of them downvotes the hell of the other (inferior) guides.
Sad but true.
My tip: Play Rengar, experiment, make some notes, try some new tactics and then release an elaborated in- depth guide once it is fleshed out. Most new guides are just a few sentences and nice pictures. Flawed and full of misconceptions.
And do not forget to make your guide look nice. At mobafire you get many upvotes for fancy colours and nice pictures by people who can not read and try not to fiddle with it's content.
