They actually are.
They raise awareness by "talking" about it and they show that they do not support Origin by not buying from it.
Customers have to vote with their money, there's not much else they can do..
The moment a religious person unknowingly calls his own ways stupid: "And lol. I highly doubt you have magic powers. If you proved it I would believe you, but since you 'refuse to', I choose not to."
as searz said. while my words might not hold much weight here, i have personally told all my friends about the **** that goes on behind the scenes in the industry.
and its not just ea, but activision, ubisoft, capcom, blizzard (sorry searz but diablo and the current state of wow). and not just the publishers and devs either, but also gamestop and gaming 'journalism', to name a few.
if the industry keeps down this path things will get a whole lot worse. the industry used to be about the games, now its about the money, and the big wigs will continue to get greedier and greedier until they're stopped.

Whut? What do I have to do with those? I don't like either of the games.

Steam handles these kinds of "information" deals perfectly.
They ask you once a month if you wanna send them info about your system and they show exactly the info you're sending, allowing you to confirm before sending.

EA did some cookie-cutter response to the whole ordeal saying something along the lines of 'We have no reason to believe any important information has been compromised', which honestly, didn't tell people jack ****.

i'd tell you that you, and everyone else that uses origin, are the ones that are allowing ea to do these things.
just like all those people who enable terrible dlc, because they purchase it.
